What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Kroll's West is a beloved Green Bay institution, praised for its iconic butter burgers and nostalgic, vintage atmosphere. While many rave about the classic diner feel and proximity to Lambeau Field, some diners have noted inconsistencies in food quality and service speed. It remains a popular spot for those seeking a taste of local history and comfort food.
"With a four star average, I was a little skeptical, but after reading several articles recommending Kroll’s West for their butter burger, I had to give it a shot and I’m glad I did.
Within 15 to 20 minutes of walking in, I already had my food. The process was quick and smooth. You seat yourself and use the button on the wall to get service, which I thought was a fun old-school touch. The staff was friendly and the western-style interior gave it a cozy vibe.
The location is also iconic, sitting right across from Lambeau Field, which made the visit even cooler as I passed through Green Bay.
For about $16, I got a phenomenal double cheeseburger, butter burger style, and it absolutely hit the spot. Overall, a great experience and worth the stop.

"We all ordered the half pound cheese burger, and we all also agreed on it not quite what we expected. My cheeseburger was ordered with ketchup and pickles, but I really wish there was more flavor to the burger. I could not tell if there was even any cheese on it. Mostly tasted like pickles and a bit of ketchup. The outside of the burger, in my opinion, was a bit overcooked. The bun was extremely dry and basically fell apart as I was trying to eat it. The French fries were awesome, along with the cheesecurds. The service was okay, but nobody showed back up to our table once our food was served. We all were looking for a refill of our beverages, but like I said, nobody came back until we were done eating and received our bill. I highly recommend that if you have a party of four, to sit at the half circled tables with chairs. The booths are a bit tight and, in my opinion, only recommended for two. Great staff, tho, very friendly and also a really cool atmospheric vibe 😎 Enjoy!"

"The food portions were pretty small, but the food was delicious. I got a braut and although it was small the taste was great, and the cheese curds as a side was a great choice. I wish I had some sort of dipping sauce but they were still good by themselves. The atmosphere was nice and quiet, it might get loud on game days though."
