Reviews Summary

Le Vallauris is celebrated for its exquisite French cuisine and enchanting romantic patio, creating a truly magical dining experience. Guests consistently praise the impeccable service and the beautiful ambiance, making it a top choice for special occasions. While the food is highly lauded, some diners have noted that service can occasionally falter, and prices are on the higher side.

"I had the pleasure of dining at Le Vallauris, and it was an unforgettable experience. From start to finish, everything was flawless.

We began our meal with the Scandinavian appetizers plate, which was a delightful introduction to the meal—every bite was an explosion of flavors, beautifully balanced and artfully presented. For the main course, we chose the duck and the veal, and both were absolute perfection. The duck was tender with a crispy exterior, and the veal was cooked to perfection, melting in your mouth with every bite. The chef’s mastery was evident in every dish.

The service was equally impressive. The staff was attentive, friendly, and genuinely invested in ensuring we had a great time. Every detail, from the timing of the courses to the wine recommendations, was handled impeccably.

If you’re looking for an extraordinary dining experience with incredible flavors and outstanding service, this place is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be returning!"

"We're always eager to dine at Vallauris when in Palm Springs, as it's a gem for authentic French cuisine with a menu offering unique French dishes that are hard to come by elsewhere. The ambiance is pleasant, featuring both indoor and outdoor seating – the patio comes highly recommended as a delightful spot to savor gourmet meals. However, I'm giving it 4 stars this time around due to a recent experience that didn't match the high service standards we've come to expect from such a reputable establishment.

During our last visit, service was noticeably lacking. We found ourselves having to request our drinks multiple times before they were finally served. Another example - was the service with the complimentary bread that felt rushed and impersonal, with no explanation of what was being offered. Additionally, while they serve Evian water, the bottles weren't opened in front of us, leaving me to wonder about its authenticity. Lastly, the attitude of our waiter at payment was disappointing; my card was almost tossed back at me, likely in response to a 15% tip instead of the 18-20% I typically leave.

Despite this experience, the quality of the food and the allure of the venue will bring me back. Yet, I hope for an improvement in service that aligns with the establishment's high standards and the prices we pay."

Guillaume Bourcy

"Very good food, attentive but not intrusive service in a great garden setting.
We came for a mid week dinner, and walked away pleased. The portions are generous.amd the food is well executed. A small menu with a few specials offers something for everyone. We enjoyed the Caesar salad, crispy scallops, Scandinavian platter, the branzino and finished with a mango-coconut panna cotta - all recommended. If in Palm Springs, get a reservation and enjoy some French fine dining."

The 10 Best Restaurants In Palm Springs, California

Le Vallauris , a typically French restaurant, is located in a restored historical landmark with Flemish tapestries and furniture designed to look like it was from the era of France’s Louis XV. The menu continues this historical context, offering French cuisine such as sautéed foie gras, crab cakes, a roast rack of lamb, or tender veal chops with Grand Marnier soufflé to finish. Le Vallauris also provides outdoor seating on the beautiful garden patio that is surrounded by lupe ficus trees and fresh flowers. Palm Springs, California

Some local favorites are: Mr. Lyons Steakhouse (swanky steak and those parker house rolls!); Workshop (very modern and very chic — but get a booth, or sit outside, so you don’t need to sit at the long communal table); Melvyn’s - a renovated and revivified rat-pack-era spot which has which is great for snazzy drinks accompanied by a pianist, followed by a fancy dinner in their dark, stylish and spacious dining room; Birba (great pizzas in a nice outdoor courtyard); mister parker’s (dim, dark and modern, Jonathan Adler style: reopened post-pandemic but now with a dressier dress code including jackets for men) and Norma’s (casual menu with a pretty outdoor terrace), both at the Parker Palm Springs; Copley’s on Palm Canyon (an old standard with a spacious courtyard and reliably good food and service); Jake’s, a casual spot with a comfortable patio, great food, and insane desserts; Cheeky’s (open for breakfast and lunch only); Le Vallauris (fancy traditional French cuisine — request the lovely outdoor courtyard). If you’re looking for an old-school New York Deli and a lean pastrami on rye, there’s Sherman’s.

The 16 Best Restaurants In Palm Springs

This patriarch in the Palm Springs fine-dining scene pleases gourmands with Gallic-inspired greatest hits, including veal filets in Cognac jus, smoked salmon salad, and chicken liver pate and one of the most romantic tree-dotted and twinkling patios this side of the City of Light. Yes, it’s hella old school with white tablecloths, flowery plating, and a gazebo that’s catnip for betrothed with big budgets, but that’s also kind of the appeal. Most folks aren’t going in weekly for braised beef cheeks in Cabernet sauce or cherry clafoutis with vanilla chantilly.
