Dining choices are limited on the North Rim, but this deli next to the lodge is your best bet for a meal on a budget or grabbing a premade sandwich on the go. Selections also include pizza (gluten-free or standard crust), salads, custom-made sandwiches, and soft-serve ice cream. Best of all, there is a veranda for dining alfresco.

In addition to grocery supplies, Canyon Village Market sells basic camping and hiking gear, including boots, rain gear and water purification systems.

In Grand Canyon Village, choices include a restaurant at the Yavapai Lodge, a food court at the Maswik Lodge, and a delicatessen at Canyon Village Marketplace on Market Plaza. The Bright Angel Fountain, at the back of the Bright Angel Lodge, serves hot dogs, sandwiches, and ice cream—as you might expect, it’s always crowded on hot days. One out-of-the-ordinary place for a quick bite is the Hermit’s Rest Snack Bar at the west end of Hermit Road, set in a stone building designed by Mary Elizabeth Jane Colter.

Canyon Village Market situated at the South Rim is a grocery and department store with gifts, clothing and camping equipment sales/ rental and shops opens from 8 am to 7 pm core hours. Yavapai Lodge Gift Shop situated in the Yavapai Lodge offers a selection of clothing, books, postcards and southwest gift item and the operating hours of the shop are 8 am to 8 pm. Unique postcards are also available which can be gifted to family and friends and these postcards are very light and easy to carry.

Deli in the Pines: If you want to get your food to go, the Deli in the Pines is a good option on the North Rim. This takeaway restaurant features pre-made sandwiches and salads that are cold and fresh and ready to take with you on your hike or sightseeing tour. Getting premade sandwiches when you get to the Canyon can save you the trouble of having to tote them there (or keep them cold).

The Four Corners region is taken up almost entirely by the Navajo and Hopi reservations, so Native American crafts are ubiquitous. You'll see jewelry for sale by the side of desolate roads, Navajo rugs in tiny trading posts, and Hopi kachinas (also spelled katsinas) being sold out of village homes. The information below will help you make an informed purchase.

A full meal that you can take with you – fresh salads and sandwiches. With local pizza and wings, you can sit out on the large veranda. The cafe is located at a large market, if you want you can buy local hot sauces or souvenirs as a gift, refill your water supply or buy any tourist ammunition for a sightseeing tour of the Canyon.

Hiking Grand Canyon National Park has something for everyone; trails from beginner level dayhikes along the rim through very strenuous multi-day backpacks. If you plan on just doing a day hike in the Grand Canyon, you will not be required to obtain a permit, however permits are required for all overnight/backcountry hiking.

It’s a bit of an Alladin’s Cave where you can find everything from freshly roasted chickens, grab n’ go salads and cooking essentials, to craft beers, souvenirs and camping supplies. Conveniently located in the market plaza next to the post office, don’t forget to send a few postcards home to your loved ones.

Canyon Village Market & Deli – The deli is the ideal location to pick up a freshly made sandwich or salad to put in the backpack or cooler, or you can relax at indoor or outdoor seating with a pizza or chicken wings. Breakfast is served every morning along with coffee drinks, tea, and hot cocoa.

The Market is a good logistic stop rather than some splendid viewpoint. There is quite a large parking lot, a bank, a post office, toilets, and a big store. Not only you can buy snacks and coffee there but also pretty much any piece of outdoor equipment that you might have left home.

Another cheaper option would be to grab some snacks from the Canyon Village Market and have a picnic at one of the overlooks. But since we brought our own snacks for our lunches, this would be our only meal at the Grand Canyon during our weekend trip and we wanted to treat ourselves.

These include the General Store with coffee and takeout, the Grand Canyon Lodge Dining Room with upscale dining–reservations required, the Roughrider Saloon with drinks, coffee, and bakery items, and the Deli in the Pines in a grocery store with soups, pizza and more.

Then, consider stopping by Deli in the Pines, located inside The Grand Canyon Lodge, by the North Rim Visitor Center. This casual eatery serves over-the-counter lunch and dinner entrees for anybody short on time. It’s open daily from 10 AM to 9 PM.

Located at Market Plaza on the west end of Parking Lot B, the "General Store" is located next to the U.S. Post Office, and Yavapai Lodge. Market Plaza is just a short walk from Mather Campground, Trailer Village, and Park Headquarters.

Note: Grab a sandwich to go from Deli in the Pines and eat at one of the many picnic areas along the route. The only other food options are at Grand Canyon Lodge (reservations recommended) or the North Rim Campground general store.

The Grand Canyon South Rim is open for business 365 days a year. It is by far the most visited rim of the Grand Canyon. The South Rim is closest to major cities such as Phoenix and Las Vegas and has the most lodging and services.

This is located ¼ mile from the Grand Canyon Village in the Market Plaza. It also has a post office, bank, kennel, and RV park. This is a nice spot to pick up groceries or grab-and-go sandwiches for a picnic.

The North Rim offers a more limited range of dining options including the Grand Canyon Lodge Dining Room, the Roughriders Saloon, the Deli in the Pines, and the General Store.

You can find grab-and-go items for hot and cold sandwiches, salads, pizza, and soups there. It offers a range of beverages and snacks. All items are served to go.

If you are buying food the Grand Canyon Village Market has a great selection. I find it better than the supermarkets in Tusayan.

I planned to hang out there enjoying the view for several hours then meet a friend for lunch in the Village near the Market.
