Reviews Summary

The Sunflower Bakery & Cafe is a highly popular brunch spot known for its delicious, scratch-made baked goods and hearty American meals. While many praise the generous portions and friendly atmosphere, some find the prices a bit high for the serving sizes. Be prepared for a wait, especially on weekends, but most agree the food is worth the anticipation.

"A bit of a wait but honestly worth it in my opinion. Food was fast, and there’s even a community table if you want to get in quicker. Food- delicious. Very loud and a fun buzz in the atmosphere. Strawberry butter and biscuits were my fav."

Robin Grist

"The Sunflower Bakery Café is a charming brunch spot nestled in Galveston, Texas. With plenty of seating and a welcoming, bustling vibe, it's clearly a local favorite—and for good reason. The café doubles as a bakery, offering a variety of fresh, house-made baked goods that add a unique touch to the experience.

The atmosphere is warm and inviting, though it’s usually quite busy, so expect a bit of a wait. That said, the lively environment adds to its charm, and the food makes it worth your patience.

I found the menu a bit pricey for the portion sizes, but the quality of the food didn’t disappoint. Everything tasted fresh and well-prepared, making it a great stop for a relaxing brunch or casual bite."

Carlos Crisanto

"This is some of the best breakfast on the island. There are so many different options depending on what you would like. There is waffles, pancakes, biscuits, pastries, and so much more. Everything was absolutely amazing. We were met with a short wait time on Sunday morning but it went by very quickly. Service was great and the food didn’t take that long to get out. I got the waffle with whipped cream and berries, it was delicious. The whipped cream was home made, rich and creamy. And all the berries were fresh and there were plenty of them. If you are looking for a breakfast spot, make sure to stop by, you won’t regret it! We can’t wait to come back!"

This place serves everything from french toast to migas to steak and eggs, and it has an uncanny ability to seat even the largest walk-in parties within a few minutes. The decorations might be a bit unconventional—think National Geographic photos of wildlife next to old-timey tin signs for hot cocoa—but the walls are painted a cheery shade of orange and the staff is just as bright and sunny.
