Let me start by saying that Grotto Ristorante is not just about soup, but it certainly deserves a place in the discussion of the best soups in Galveston. Upon entering, my taste buds were greeted with the delightful aroma of Italian cuisine. I was immediately seated and treated to a delicious dinner for two.

The specialty Mardi Gras margarita will also be offered from now until Feb. 25 at all other Galveston locations -- Brick House Tavern + Tap, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., Fish Tales, Fisherman’s Warf, Grotto, Joe’s Crab Shack, Landry’s Seafood House, Rainforest Café, Saltgrass Steakhouse and Willie G’s.

Maddie was our server she was so kind and knowledgeable on all the gluten free options available, she was able to accommodate us and we have celiac disease. We felt very comfortable and didn’t have any reaction to the gluten free pasta.

For Italian dining, a wide variety of wines, and fabulous Gulf views, make a reservation at the Grotto. Ask your server about their wines and wine pairings. If they know their wines, you’ll know your dinner will be good!!

Their space wasn’t large enough to accommodate our party and their current reservations. Next was Grotto, which I surprisingly got the same person on the phone even though I called a different number.

Went here for valentines, hands down the BEST Italian food I have had in the states. Amazing atmosphere and experience. Must try their risotto and their signature Bellini!
