And he’s looking down on everything that happens in the saloon’s main room, from framed photos of the silver-haired fox with musical icons Ray Price and Jerry Jeff Walker and characters straight out of a Larry McMurtry novel, right next to a signed picture of Willie Nelson. There’s chipped plaster and scuffed wood floors and strong margaritas.

Vibe: Laid back, TEXAS, order at the counter, live music, large patio, STRONG margaritas. Hondo’s is one of my favorites in town. They offer traditional American food (burgers, chicken fried sandwiches and salads).

We headed to Pasta Bella per the hostess’s recommendation at Hondo’s. Their wait time was about 1.5 hours so we went next door and grabbed drinks and appetizers at Social Haus while we were waiting for our table.
