Reviews Summary

Eaker Barbecue is celebrated for its exceptional Texas-style BBQ with a unique Korean fusion twist, particularly praised for its moist brisket and flavorful Gochujang ribs. Diners rave about the friendly owners and the delicious, creative sides. While most reviews are glowing, one diner expressed disappointment with a lack of smoky flavor on a recent visit.

"My husband and I came here for lunch and we were not disappointed!! I love that they offer i door and outdoor seating. Now, the food is DELICIOUS!! The meat was nice and tender. Mac and cheese was DELICIOUS. Not that Kraft crap that I can make at home!! HIGHLY recommend getting your BBQ fix here. Also. The owners are SUPER sweet and approachable."

"Wow – this BBQ is excellent and some of the tastiest BBQ we have ever eaten! Eaker is conveniently located on W. Main St. near S. Bowie St. Such a great menu with neat items such Brisket Boudin, Smoked Tallow, Tasty Pork, Slow Smoked Brisket and Boozy Banana Pudding. We had the Smoked Pork Sausage, Cole Slaw, Mac-N-Cheese, Potato Salad and Stuffed Baked potato – all absolutely perfect! You will not leave hungry – that is for sure. The decor is very family-friendly, and they have a large shaded outdoor eating area as well. You can also check out their custom-made smoker pits too. We highly recommend this BBQ and we will be returning this August with our family. Salute!"

Michael Carew

"We loved this place! Excellent BBQ, including some with a Korean twist. We tried the brisket, the gochujang ribs, and the bulgogi sausage. All were terrific. The “moist” brisket was smoked perfectly, nice smoke flavor and smoke ring, and oh so juicy. The Korean ribs and sausage were different, but in a good way. We’re not huge fans of thick sauces on meat, but the ribs worked, super tender, fall off the bone! Grateful for the ample supply of napkins at the table! 😁

We had beans and slaw for side, both delicious! Even the garnishes of pickles and pickled onions were first-class. Very good homemade BBQ sauce too. Super friendly owners and staff. Great meal. Highly recommend!"

Restaurants in Fredericksburg

Lance Eaker hails from Texas, his wife Boo is Korean, and they have combined their impressive culinary talents to cook up some of the best barbecue in Texas at this award-winning, mesquite-smoking barbecue joint, which started as a food truck in Houston. The classics, from Texas dry rub pork ribs to moist prime brisket, are all excellent, but what makes it so unique are the succulent Gochujang ribs, fried kimchi rice, homemade kimchi, and other Korean-inflected dishes that reflect Boo's heritage. Leave room for Boo's BOOzy banana pudding; it's a knockout.

Good food can be found in all sorts of places, and there’s no better proof of that than Eaker Barbecue, a laidback Fredericksburg smokehouse that was named a Texas Monthly Top 50 BBQ Joint 2021. Lance Eaker and his Korean-born wife Boo used to run a food truck in Houston and this is their first bricks-and-mortar eatery. The brisket, ribs and homemade sausages, all made with prime cuts, are succulent and smoky but what really sets this ‘cue apart is the addition of Boo’s Korean sides and sauces.
