Reviews Summary

Cork & Cow is lauded for its excellent food, particularly steaks cooked to perfection, and stellar service that makes special occasions memorable. Diners love the upscale yet rustic atmosphere and creative cocktails. However, some reviews mention inconsistent steak quality and overly sweet or watered-down drinks, leading to a few disappointing experiences.

"No words can fully describe the experience. We celebrated 52 years since our first date. Incredible atmosphere, food, and service.
We will return again and again."

Susan Minatrea

"This is our favorite restaurant in Williamson county. My wife and I came for our anniversary and it was beyond amazing. Of the 20+ times we've been, it keeps getting better. The food was absolutely amazing, but the service was stellar. Barry was fantastic and gave us perfect direction from cocktails to dessert. I will be coming back purely for his expertise and personality. Thank you Cork and Cow for another fabulous night! We'll continue to recommend everyone we can to your door!"

Stephen Ladd

"Was excited to eat at such a highly rated Steakhouse. Upon arrival I was greeted with warm smiles and kindness. Atmosphere was great!

Reviewed the menu and thought I decided on the Chargrilled Oysters. Waited around and they never came.

Ordered their Ole Fashioned and it was extremely sweet likely due to pre made mix. No cherry also!

Decided on 45 day dry aged ribeye and it was a disappointment. Expecting a tender melt in your mouth steak and it wasn’t bad but far from the price point.

Finally ordered crème burlee and it was watery.

Could have been an amazing experience! Just never met my expectations.

Other steakhouses I am been blown away at for comparison sake is Oak Steakhouse. Charleston, SC. Malones Lexington, KY, Halls Chophouse, Charleston, SC."

Top 10 Restaurants InFranklin Tennessee

Cork & Cow is an upscale, independently owned steakhouse managed by well known local restaurateur Jason McConnell. McConnell grew up on a small cattle farm in northwest Tennessee, an upbringing that guides him in selecting the restaurant’s locally and regionally sourced beef. The menu features a variety of beef cuts, all of which are cooked over an oak and hickory wood fire and topped with lemon butter and sea salt.

Nashville's Best Steakhouses

For the past 15+ years, executive chef and restaurateur Jason McConnell has greatly shaped historic Franklin’s dining scene, introducing The Red Pony for fine Southern dining, the Mexican-inspired eatery, Sol, and 55 South, his homage to the casual fare of the Deep South. In 2012, he closed Sol and transformed it into a high-end steakhouse. In the rustic yet elegant setting of Cork & Cow, you’ll find the influences of all three former eateries: a focus on local and regional produce (a lovely salad using Greener Roots greens), some Latin touches (sublime chimichurri on the grilled lamb chops) and Deep South sensibility (garlicky charred oysters, okra fries).

Nashville’s Most Romantic Restaurants

Franklin diners have no need to drive into Nashville with places like Cork & Cow in operation. A winner of Wine Spectator’s Award of Excellence, C&C also impresses with house craft cocktails like the Grand Sapphire with house-infused rosemary gin, Grand Marnier, fresh lemon, vanilla bean and agave nectar. Make plans for your sweetheart on Valentine’s Day 2015 and dig into a fired brie salad with arugula, pepper jell vinaigrette and champagne cherries before moving on to a choice of four entrees – much more than many restaurants offer for a prix fixe menu.

Franklin TN best eats : nashville

55 South is a bit less pricey and has some nice items, but the real draw is the brunch with the bloody mary bar (they pour the alcohol and mixer, you dress it up). McCreary’s is an interesting Irish pub and has some good drink specials, but neither your craft beer heaven or high end food. I also Sperry’s listed, which is not far and more of the “I like it darker in the restaurant” type of place (I have not been to the Franklin Chop House, but have some friends who like it).

Let the celebrations ensue at downtown Franklin’s Cork & Cow, best known for its great steaks and seafood, expansive wine selection, and robust cocktail program. Chef Jason McConnell is behind the elevated steakhouse and other staples on Main Street—including 55 South next door and Red Pony across the street. While the menu rotates seasonally, you can’t go wrong with a filet, New York Strip, or a tomahawk with saucy accompaniments and Southern sides.

Cork & Cow has two priorities — wine and steak — and while there are other dishes on the menu, it's clear where the restaurant's focus is. The classic steakhouse offerings at Cork & Cow, like the wood-grilled filet, New York strip, and rack of lamb, are deliciously satisfying with its signature potatoes. You can upgrade any steak with accompaniments like mushrooms and onions, lobster tail, and garlic shrimp, as you would expect at most steakhouses.
