Excellent dining experience! Amazing waitress and bartending although bar staff aloof, the host was huggable and a marvel. Amazing food and drinks! Will be back. Was shocked we needed reservations on a Monday night but I could see why!! Only thought the potato cream and zucchini base for my salmon needed salt. 4.9 stars of 5!

Reviews Summary

Walloon's Restaurant garners high praise for its exceptionally fresh oysters and unique retro-modern ambiance, often described as a standout dining experience. While many rave about the delicious food, creative cocktails, and attentive service, some diners note that the atmosphere can be quite loud, and a few have found certain dishes to be overpriced or served at suboptimal temperatures.

"We eat out and travel often and so have experienced hundreds of restaurants, but this one was really special. Folks making the decisions here really understand quality and are succeeding at creating experiences that are memorable and worthwhile. The menu is quirky but that gives it variety. The decor is retro and modern. I only took one star on atmosphere because it was very loud; however, aesthetically, I love it. The plants are so appealing. Hats off to the proprietors and really everyone at Walloon's. If this were in my neighborhood, I would be there all the time!"

Jamie Hoffman

"Ok this place has the best margaritas! Seth did an amazing job taking care of my wife and I. His table timing was perfect! We went all out! The oysters were the best I've ever had. So fresh and tasty! The French fries are super addicting! Deviled eggs are yummy! Yes, I know I'm listing a lot but hey when you have a quality place like this you try everything you can!"

Discover Fort Worth's Best New Restaurants of 2024

Near the end of our list (its name does begin with a “W,” after all) but first on our minds when it comes to fine dining on the Near Southside, Marcus Paslay’s lively seafood-and-then-some restaurant is barely a year old, but with its neighborhood-spot charm, it feels like it’s been here forever. Perched on the corner of Magnolia and Hemphill, inside the historic LaCava building, it’s the fourth restaurant in Paslay’s small empire of eateries and, like his others, it has a style all its own. The cozy bistro-inspired tables, situated within arm’s distance of one another, conjure a New York state of mind, while the rollicking bar is straight out of New Orleans.
