What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
TAKATO is praised for its innovative Japanese-Korean fusion cuisine, stunning oceanfront views, and exceptional service. Guests rave about signature dishes like Wagyu Tacos and Duck Bao Buns, as well as the expertly crafted cocktails. While most reviews are overwhelmingly positive, some find certain sushi rolls to be uninspired.
"I took my partner here for her birthday dinner last night. The receptionist at the front was lovely and very helpful with our reservation.
We sat at the bar, ordered some cocktails that were delicious. About 20 mins later we got a table outside with a lovely view. My partner and I ate the best duck we’ve ever had with the Duck Bao Bun! Absolutely a must order! She also had the Otorro which she said was good but not the best she’s had. For the main course we had the lobster udon which was gone on my plate instantaneously! Something I wouldn’t of expected to be so good to be honest because I’m not a big fan of udon. Finally for a birthday dessert, we had mochi wrapped with Rice Krispies that you dipped in melted chocolate, I will daydream of this dessert forever. Loved the whole experience and food. Would highly recommend!"

"I really enjoyed my time here and I will return for sure. I went on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. Which was perfect because it was not crowded. The view of the beach is lovely. But we decided to sit indoors because it was too hot. The food was absolutely yummy. We ordered two different apps, a roll to share and then our entrees. The Spicy Edamame had a lot of flavor but it wasn't as spicy as I expected. The Crispy Brussels Sprouts was pretty good as well. Whatever sauce they use to give it that extra flavor really works. Now for my main I had the Seared Scallops & Octopus - served with a Spicy lobster bisque, cream foam. It was delicious! If there's octopus on the menu l will order it. Overall I really enjoyed my time and I can't wait to go back. The service was very friendly from the moment we entered right through to the wait staff. Oh I forgot to mention the ambiance was very chill."

"If you like Japanese or Korean cuisine, I don’t see how anyone could ever be disappointed with this great restaurant. Absolutely superb. There’s not enough wonderful words in the dictionary to describe the great time and wonderful experience of Takato……….. beautiful street side patio across from the ocean. Wonderful inside dining. Two great bars with nice seating."
