Down across Beaver you come upon Nimarco’s pizza which like Fratelli’s is a Flagstaff staple with I believe three around town. This concludes my food march down beaver St, and I begin to trek over to South San Francisco St. I would have to say that San Francisco St. probably has the best group of restaurants on it than any other street in Flagstaff. I start my south San Francisco food journey at La Santisima which is a gourmet taco place with a great back patio and good tacos, the Al Pastor tacos are my personal favorite.

NiMarco’s Pizza Downtown has been a fixture here since 1979, and the current owners took charge in 2000. Its specialty pizzas are delicious and include the Mexican-inspired South of the Border pizza, as well as The Popeye, which includes spinach among its ingredients.For starters, there are Appi-Teasers on the menu, and you can also try freshly-made salads and wings. Gluten-free food lovers are welcome here, with both specialty and build-your-own pizzas available.

NiMarco’s is Flagstaff’s hometown pizzeria, and it won Best of Flag’s Best Pizza award in 2022. Their original store is located downtown, just south of the tracks on Beaver Street. Their second location is right at the entrance of NAU on Milton Road, and their brand new third location is located on the east side of town on the corner of Kaspar Drive and historic Route 66.

The original owner built a small, take-out only pizza kitchen on the corner of Beaver Street and Cottage Avenue, where there now stands a big apple tree. He named the business after his two sons, Nick and Marc, hence the name NiMarco's. Today, NiMarco's is owned by Dave and Angie Ledbetter, who both began working there in 1994, when they were NAU students.
