What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Himalayan Grill offers a delightful blend of Indian, Tibetan, and Nepali cuisines, praised for its flavorful dishes and generous portions. Many customers appreciate the warm hospitality and the unique flavors. However, some reviews mention long wait times and inconsistency in food quality, with occasional complaints about blandness or overcooked meats.
"Delicious food. Love that they use cilantro! We were asked what level of spice, from 1-5. We got 1 and enjoyed the flavors. Service has been great for us during lunch hours. Portion sizes have always left us with enough to enjoy at home the next day. We don't have Nepali or even Indian food where we live so it's a nice splurge when we have to go to Flagstaff. You can eat for less than 20.00-30.00 a person though. This last visit I also got chicken chau chau to go and it was enough for three meals. Photos are from the last two visits."

"A cozy little Indian restaurant at the heart of Flagstaff. Although the place isn’t the best looking inside and out, looks can be deceiving. Our waiter was attentive to our table and was friendly.
The food itself is very good. I might be biased towards Indian food, but this is very good. I like the creaminess of the Tikka Masala and the samosas. I also liked some of the lamb and everything these wonderful people cook. Overall, would recommend."

"We visited this restaurant while on holiday, looking for Indian/Nepali food. We arrived around 7:30 PM and were seated quickly as it wasn’t crowded. However, it took over an hour for our food to arrive, despite multiple reminders. The staff seemed more focused on fulfilling doordash orders than attending to dine-in customers, and they were not welcoming or attentive.
When the food finally arrived, it was a big letdown—bland, lacking flavor, and poorly prepared. The chicken vindaloo had more potatoes than chicken, and the chaw chaw was overly sweet and oily. As we were eating, the staff began cleaning the floors and tables around us, making us feel rushed and uncomfortable. We had to pack up and leave before finishing our meal.
Overall, this was one of our worst dining experiences. Would not recommend unless it’s your only option.
If you're not too hungry, don’t mind a long wait, prefer bland and slightly sweet food, and aren’t bothered by poor service, then this might just be the place for you."

And although the “best” part can be argued, what is certain is that every meal you’ll have at the Himalayan Grill will be excellent and will be a consistently unique experience. The Himalayan and Indian fusion meals here are an awesome way to take your taste buds on a ride through countries and spices that they’re most likely not used to but will undoubtedly love.
