Reviews Summary
Wayfinder Restaurant garners praise for its delicious homemade dishes, particularly steaks and breakfast items, and its friendly, attentive service, with Jesus and Jose frequently highlighted as exceptional servers. However, some diners have noted concerns regarding the restaurant's dated ambiance and high prices relative to the perceived quality and portion sizes, with one review specifically mentioning issues with gluten-free options.
"I give this place a 5 star. Customer service was excellent. Jesus was attentive, very friendly and was awesome! Kudos to Jesus! Food was great! We had the beef rib eye and pork chops, very tasty! Homemade green chili which is always great. Definitely our go too place up here!"

"This place was recommended on Open Table, which is why we went, but it feels like the land that time forgot. No music was played for the last 40 years, and it looks like it has been some time since it has been renovated.
A positive was that the wait staff was attentive. My strawberry mojito was tasty. I feel like they were doing the best they could.
My trout was okay, but could have had more of a fried look to it. The peppers with chorizo the highlight of my meal. My pan-fried trout was almost $50! 😵💫
My husband's meal was 2 pieces of chicken that was almost $30. He said the potatoes tasted like they were old. I thought they were okay, but I'm giving his input as well.
The real takeaway is that we spent $96 for a meal that should have been 1/3 of that price. I get it, this is a tourist town but I would not recommend it. I don't feel like the quality is worth the price of the meal."

"We wanted one more Estes experience before we headed home, so we stopped at Way Finder for breakfast. I had the bacon and egg wrap, and my wife had the salmon omelet and the Irish whiskey latte. We both added a side of avocado, and I added a side of sausage gravy to go with my cheesy grits and wrap.
The food was hot and fresh and delicious! My wife was impressed with the amount of salmon in her omelet, along with the feta cheese. She also loved her whiskey latte. My wrap was large and stuffed with bacon, cheese, eggs, and potatoes. The cheesy grits were cooked perfectly and delicious on their own, but when I added some of that sausage gravy - wow!
There was no way we could eat all of that before hitting the road, so our waitress, Brenda, was super helpful in getting us boxes and to-go cutlery and napkins so we could enjoy it later on the road - which we did!
We have eaten here before with a larger group, and the food and service have always been good. The restaurant is larger than it looks from the parking lot. There is an upper section and a larger lower section facing the pond and mountain, plus bar seating. It's a very solid choice for breakfast, lunch, or dinner in Estes Park."

The 9 Best Gluten-Free Bread Item Spots in Estes Park
Because of celiac disease we asked the server if the items marked as gluten free used a dedicated fryer to avoid gluten cross-contamination (many restaurants do but not all). He said nothing is gluten free, even the things marked as gluten free because there is bread in the kitchen and the only thing gluten free is water so there was nothing we should order. It wasn’t said as a joke.

Wayfinder - Estes Park
Located just a bit outside of Rocky Mountain National Park’s Beaver Meadows entrance in Estes Park is the Wayfinder restaurant. I have tried several times to stop into Wayfinder and have been unsuccessful due to it being too full and during a remodel. I finally made it in and I was excited to give it a try.
