Reviews Summary

Ore House is celebrated for its impeccable service, warm Old West ambiance, and expertly prepared steaks, particularly the prime rib. Diners rave about the inventive cocktails and the feeling of being treated like royalty. While pricey, the experience is considered well worth it for special occasions. Some guests have noted noise levels during peak times and occasional inconsistencies with certain dishes, but the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive.

"What an amazing dinner and incredible service!! Stopped in to the Ore House for a drink and light dinner at the bar. Everything we ordered was delicious and beautifully presented. I highly recommended the Tartare, it was amazing. The entire staff is so attentive, personable, and kind! Everyone makes you feel right at home and makes the dining experience totally enjoyable. Thanks to the entire front and back of house for a beautiful meal!"

"Amazing service and amazing food. The cocktails were a real surprise- really inventive and unique with a lot of effort in homemade ingredients like a special dirty martini brine and a cilantro tequila infusion. The steak was amazing, and did not disappoint. Brussel sprouts and potatoes were phenomenal. Our waitress was kind, fun, and made the evening feel special."

Alex Johnson

"Amazing service and even better food. Yes, this place is pricy—but it’s a perfect example of “you get what you pay for.” From the half glass of wine for me and mocktail for my 7 year old upon seating to the food and drink recommendations, the service was impeccable and made us feel like we were the most important diners in the restaurant. The food was perfectly timed; none of that “here’s your salad” and three minutes later, your meal. Plan to spend both money and time here—this isn’t a $20 get-in-get-out place—but you’ll enjoy every minute of it."

There’s a good variety of options too depending on what you’re looking for, ranging from casual spots like Steamworks Brewing Company, The Irish Embassy Pub, Fired Up Artisan Pizza and Mountain Taco & Tequila to more upscale places like Ken & Sue (Asian fusion), Seasons (modern American) and Ore House (old-style steakhouse). There’s also a new food truck-style collective eatery called the 11th Street Station, which attracted quite the crowd enjoying the live music despite the cold. We ultimately decided on Eolus Bar & Dining after encountering a local couple on the street who claimed it was the best restaurant in town.

If I want to show off our town, I take friends to the Ore House Restaurant, a long standing favorite steakhouse and piece of history on College Drive. There isn’t a wrong choice to be made from this menu, but I always find myself sharing the Chateaubriand center-cut tenderloin with my date. It’s 21 day wet-aged and served with three perfect sauces.
