Reviews Summary

Rose's Fine Food and Wine is a beloved local spot praised for its charming vintage diner atmosphere, delicious scratch-made breakfast, and delightful house-made pastries and pies. While many rave about the cozy ambiance and friendly service, some reviewers found certain dishes, like the dry-rubbed chicken wings, to be too salty, and side dishes can be ordinary. The addition of a new patio space has also been well-received for outdoor dining.

"I've been a long time lover of Rose's Fine Foods. I've enjoyed the "Staff Favorite" breakfast bowl since I arrived in Detroit.

Rose's is a staple of the Detroit Brunch circuit and I was very excited to see cocktails on the menu pre-pandemic.

Over the past year, a lot of restaurants have been forced to make tough choices, but I don't think anyone has made a pivot quite as deftly as Rose's Fine Food and Wine. The move into bottles and smaller plate items is a great decision. You can tell there has been considerable thought put into all of the decisions made throughout the interior and exterior.

While most of the interior seating has been removed, there are more overall options to eat and mingle with the expansion of the outdoor dining. Picnic tables, umbrellas and planter beds were added last year and I hear more is on the way. It's fun to see staff run between the kitchen and vegetable gardens as they prepare food.

I'm excited to see what the summer weekend menu offerings are. The staff mentioned there may be a limited menu, so hopefully we see some old favorites. I look forward to keeping this spot in rotation as we all try to get back to "normal.""

"Been back here at every time of renovation and it's always great. Great drink selection and wine bar. Fantastic lunch menu with Amazing sandwiches. Great baked goods. The new patio is rad. Prices are more then fair."

"In my sweet 23 years of eating treats and taking myself out on dates, Roses has always been my favorite shop. I should have reviewed years ago, but I’m doing it now as I say goodbye to a business I loved so dearly. Love ya’ll and hope there is more to come in the future."

While Rose’s Fine Food has garnered plenty of national buzz this past year for its admittedly adorable diner vibe, the atmosphere comes in second to its equally adorable (but, you know, more appetizing and edible) donuts that are made daily from scratch. If you come in when they’ve got the chocolate, get the chocolate. If you come in when they don’t have the chocolate, get whatever they have and then come back for the chocolate.
