What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Noah's Ark Ristorante is a beloved institution, praised for its authentic, old-school Italian atmosphere and classic dishes like pizza and ravioli. Many appreciate the nostalgic ambiance and friendly service, with some celebrating its decades-long tradition. However, a few diners found some dishes to be pricey for the quality or less flavorful compared to other Italian chains.
"I haven't been to Noah's for years. We sat at the bar with Eric as our bartender and waiter. It was so nice to get a "real"mixed drink!
Dinner was very good. Service was excellent. I tried the chicken livers with sauce on the side, they were delicious. Others had the rib special- tender and tasty sauce and the filet sandwich. Lights are dim with a date night atmosphere. We all left satisfied and happy. I would totally recommend!!"

"Went to Noah’s Ark with a couple other people for dinner. I was very grateful to have had the option of the specials menu for the day, and got the baked Ricotta manicotti. It was tasty, but rather pricey for what it was. It came with a small salad which I did enjoy. I personally was not intrigued by the actual menu. Especially when something is describe as having “meat” - I don’t eat all meat and don’t always want to have to ask the waiter to explain everything on a menu."
Lorien Spilkin
"I may have to give them another try. For the price, and I love local and chains, but I had better pasta at Olive Garden or Maggiano’s. The ambience was nice, though! May come back in the future."

There’s something fundamentally comforting and appealing about ordering onion rings at an old school neighborhood joint. Having been around since 1946, Noah’s Ark on Ingersoll definitely fits the old school bill. And with age comes the wisdom to pair their hand-breaded, not-too-thin, not-too-thick onion rings with breaded green pepper rings.
Des Moines’ Italian Restaurants
Once I visit them and write up the last review, I’ll want to go back and start all over again!. But, to be honest, I can’t wait to hit some of my favorite chef-owned and operated restaurants, such as Lucca, Centro, Django, and Cafe di Scala. If I was made of nothing but money, I would eat at one of those places every day.
