What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Annette is praised for its fresh, seasonal ingredients and exciting flavor combinations, with many highlighting the wood-fired cooking. While the service is generally lauded as friendly and attentive, some diners have found certain dishes to be underseasoned. The ambiance is described as cozy and sophisticated, though tables can be close together. It's considered a standout dining destination with potential for minor improvements.
"A definite “MUST VISIT” if you’re in the area… everything from their interesting menu, to the beautiful, open-kitchen venue, to their amazing service was excellent!
I dined solo as I was in Denver for work and reading online reviews pointed me to Annette. I opted to sit at the bar and the bartender, as well as various other staff did a great job keeping my needs met and my taste buds happy.
If you go on a Tuesday, it’s happy hour all night, so they have nice deals that are available throughout dinner service. They have a nice menu, filled with something for everyone and all items are shareable… Most are actually available in half portions too, which was great for me as a solo diner.
I started with their deviled egg which was excellent and basic. Nothing fancy or crazy, just a very nicely seasoned yolk (filling) which tasted great. Next up was a half order of their Butter Lettuce and Tarragon salad. What an interesting and fun compliment for them to add a sunflower seed brittle to this salad! It offered a nice texture as well as a sweet bite that complimented the tarragon very nicely. This was such a perfectly dressed and plated salad that!
Dinner course consisted of their orecchiette and since it featured Calabrian chilis, I asked for extra of those be included in the preparation. The half order looked small, but I couldn’t finish it all. Definitely filling and packed with flavor. A slight bitterness from the lemon preserve and a nice heat from the Calabrian chili. Save room for dessert… They have several that looked amazing!
My final course was simply a single profiterole and a scoop of their strawberry lime sorbet (separately, of course!). The profiterole featured a bay leaf ice cream inside it and homemade salted caramel on top. I’m not normally appreciative of caramel, but this was so good, I licked the spoon to get it all! The pastry dough was the best profiterole I’ve ever had! The combo of everything in a single bite was dreamy! Switching to the sorbet – Really Really Good! (But it’s sorbet, what more can I say about it?).
Highly recommend stopping in here… Make reservations though, they get busy!"

"4.33/5 Visited Annette about a month ago during our trip to the Denver area. I'm glad we stopped here because the small plates were delicious. Of everything we tried, the cabbage stood out in the best way. I hope to find a way to replicate the recipe! This isn't necessarily a problem, but I'm not a huge fan of places where the tables are on top of each other so that's what takes away from the atmosphere. If I lived in the area, I'd make this part of my takeout rotation."

"My review is based entirely on the food.
I wanted to love this place. The ambiance was great, the cocktail I drank, amazing. When it came to the food, everything was underseasoned.
The grilled lengua with marrow toast sounded right up my ally. The presentation was great, but the flavor was just richness with no salt or acid.
Our steak frites was also underseasoned. Proper seasoning is such a foundational thing, it was all we could talk about as each dish cane through.
The only dish that wasn't underseasoned was the potato with caviar. Then again, one of the main ingredients is concentrated salt.
I would come here for happy hour or drinks, but I'd eat elsewhere. It was just too expensive a meal to fail at seasoning across 3 of 4 dishes."

Essential Women-Owned Restaurants in Denver: 8 Places to Support Now
Since opening in late 2016, the Stanley Marketplace has become a bustling community centerpiece filled with dining, shopping, services, and events. But even with so many businesses calling the development home, Caroline Glover’s first solo restaurant Annette is a major standout and one of Denver’s top dining destinations. Not only has Glover developed an eatery that manages to serve fine dining level food with an atmosphere that feels as comfortable as a close friend’s house, she’s also become a voice for the challenges COVID brought to Denver restaurants.
33 Best Restaurants in Denver, From Fine Dining to Roadside Tacos
Located in a former aviation factory out in Aurora, the Stanley Marketplace is basically a mall—not where you’d expect to find a contemporary American restaurant run by the 2022 James Beard Award winner for Best Chef: Mountain Region. But that’s Annette for you. CIA-trained chef-owner Caroline Glover’s heartfelt attention to detail, as well as her skill in wood-fired cooking, reveal themselves in sophisticated signature dishes like the grilled, sliced beef tongue with marrow toast and the roast chicken with PX Sherry vinegar and escarole.
Family Restaurants in Denver | VISIT DENVER
Named one of "Bon Appetit’s" Best New Restaurants of 2017, Aurora-based Annette embodies everything you could possibly want from a dining experience: an elevated casual vibe, fresh ingredients that are never manipulated, exhilarating flavor combinations (beef tongue with pickled carrot relish; pork schnitzel drizzled with adobo vinaigrette; pork tenderloin and tetra squash), a wood-burning grill that permeates the air with perfumed smoke and a small but enormously satisfying wine scroll. But owner/chef Caroline Glover’s restaurant is also a place where the enormous satisfaction trickles down to youngsters who go bombastic for the cheeseburger, served on a housemade English muffin, the peanut butter and scratch-made jam sandwich and handmade sodas. The dining room is more suited to adults, but families congregate on the patio and inside Annette’s cozy yurt and greenhouses.
10 of the Best Restaurants in Denver to Slurp Oysters
At Aurora darling Annette, chef-owner Caroline Glover sources one East Coast and one West Coast oyster variety at a time—currently Island Creek oysters from Massachusetts and Hama Hamas from Washington—from small distributors who work directly with family-owned oyster farms. The restaurant receives shipments of oysters two to three times per week and Glover says she always strives to have one variety for the “entry-level” palate—something clean and without an overwhelming brine—and something with deep ocean flavor for the more seasoned connoisseur. Whatever your pleasure, drizzle on Glover’s house-made mignonette, crafted with small-batch raw vinegars made from unconventional ingredients such as kombu and celery.

How to Spend a Big Fat Weekend in Denver
I dropped kinda-sorta not-so-subtle hints for my friends to leave, so I could have a date with my husband at this sweet little restaurant in Aurora. Annette Scratch to Table is run by chef Caroline Glover, who grew up in Texas, cooked in New York, and farmed in Colorado before she opened this ingredient-driven restaurant inside Stanley Market (you’ll notice there are a lot of food halls in the Denver area). We snacked on jiggly egg salad tartines, textbook-perfect steak frites, and the best panzanella I’ve ever had, made with just-in season Colorado tomatoes and soft hunks of white bread all tossed in a punchy cucumber dressing that almost tricked me into thinking it was still summer.
