Reviews Summary

Rooh Columbus offers a unique and elevated Indian dining experience, lauded for its creative dishes and well-crafted cocktails. Diners frequently praise standout items like the Sweet Potato Chaat and Butter Chicken, alongside the attentive service and vibrant atmosphere. While generally well-received, some guests note the portions can be small for the price.

"We had a fantastic dining experience at Rooh. The highlight of our meal was the sweet potato chaat—perfectly balanced flavors and textures made it our favorite dish of the night. The short ribs were incredibly tender with a deep, rich flavor, and the lamb shank was equally well-prepared.

Since we visited during happy hour, we had the chance to try several cocktails, and each one was well-crafted and enjoyable.

With great food, well-executed cocktails, and a vibrant atmosphere, Rooh is definitely a spot we’d recommend and return to!"

David Boyer

"We’d heard so many great things about Rooh and finally had the chance to dine in, and it definitely lived up to the hype!

For appetizers, we had the Cauliflower Koliwada, which was perfectly seasoned and bursting with flavor. For mains, we tried the Feta Saag: absolutely amazing! We never thought we’d go crazy over spinach, but this dish changed that.
We also had the beef short ribs, which were incredibly tasty. If they were braised, they might’ve been even better, but still really solid.

As for drinks, the Mango Mule was delicious and super refreshing, and the Golden Ghee (ghee-infused Bulleit Bourbon) surprised us, we were skeptical at first, but it turned out to be really good!

Huge shoutout to our server Arianna — she was fantastic — and the gentleman manager who checked in on us was also very kind.

We’re already looking forward to going back!"

A Couple Drinks

"By far one of the best places to eat in the area! Lauren was an absolute delight and very knowable about the menu. She recommended the sweet potato chaat and the butter chicken, both were phenomenal! The cocktails were amazing, as well. I had the pista sour and would highly recommend! The whole experience was a 10/10!"

Rooh calls itself “progressive Indian,” which basically just means amping up traditional recipes with creative spins, cute glassware, and snappy decor, like the striking mural of a woman greeting you at the entrance. It’s a great place to meet friends for a Happy Hour that carries over into dinner. Start with the fluffy-topped Paan Clouds cocktail, featuring local Watershed gin, paan, date, honey, lemon and, yes, goat cheese.

Broken raspberry” and truffle oil aren’t ingredients you often see on menus in local Indian eateries, but you don’t see many local Indian eateries as modern and snazzy as this Short North hot spot. Following suit with its creative takes on a cuisine with ancient roots, Rooh also offers stylish cocktails that align with principles of ayurvedic healing that long predate the “Common Era.” And that aforementioned broken raspberry?. It goes into a chaat made with sweet potatoes, yogurt mousse and crispy kale tempura — an updated spin on a classic-style dish.
