What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Ginko is celebrated for its incredibly fresh, high-quality sushi and unique specialty rolls, with many diners praising the intimate chef's counter experience. However, some patrons find the prices steep for the portion sizes and have noted issues with loud music and occasional slow service, particularly during busy periods. Despite minor drawbacks, the quality of the fish and inventive flavors often make it a worthwhile experience for special occasions.
"Wagyu, uni, and foie gras are as good as they usually are.
I like eye of the tiger. It’s a mix of interesting flavor of acidic burdock root, savory mushroom and scallop. The blend makes scallop tastes more savory and sweet than scallop sashimi alone.
The salmon in salmon tartare tastes a bit lean. I like the tuna tartare better.
The flavor of tamagoyaki is different from what I used to have. It is fluffy and soft, and taste almost like a dessert.
Overall I would say, this is not as good as the best ones I had in China, but it is one of the best in Cleveland.
The environment could get a bit loud with the music and people talking."

"Classy and delish sushi spot in Cleveland’s Tremont neighborhood. If you want a flavor packed and amazing dining experience try the chefs plate. I was so excited to try plates put together by the chef right in front of our table. It’s a 4 course dining experience that’s ideal for a fancy date night, special celebration or treat to share with someone you care for. Ginko is also great if you want individual rolls and not leave each plate up to chance. I have eaten there twice and have enjoyed myself! Cool vibe, cool location, high quality experience."

"The food tasted pretty authentic, the sashimi especially. The service was great, the servers constantly checked up on us making us feel welcomed. On the other hand, the music was very loud and overall it was really cacophonous. Though it makes sense for the bar atmosphere. The Ginko Omakase tasted excellent, though a little overpriced - expected slightly better for it. Unlike most restaurants, the items aren’t overly salty or sweet to fit the westerner palette.
Would definitely come again for the food!"

10 of the best Asian restaurants in Greater
Ginko, 2247 Professor Ave., Cleveland (Tremont); 216-274-1202, restaurantginko.com: Sushi geeks expecting a tranquil setting in which to meditate over stunningly fresh raw fish and vinegared rice are in the wrong spot at Ginko, a modern and colorful eatery. To be sure, the fish and rice here are worthy of contemplation -- if only the rock music blaring from the speakers would allow it. Instead, count on being lifted to a higher plane by righteously prepared maki and nigiri featuring, for example, fresh sweet scallops, lush toro, pink yellowtail and tender eel.
Most romantic restaurants in Northeast Ohio
It is another Tremont neighborhood restaurant on the list, but hear us out. Sure, you’re not getting a view of a body of water or a historic location, it’s in a basement after all, but you are getting an intimate, up-close-and-personal experience watching the sushi chefs craft dishes for you. Brought to you by chef Dante Boccuzzi (whose upstairs Dante restaurant is also to be considered for this list), this is truly some of the best sushi in town.
