"Everything was a 10/10. We were seated quickly since we arrived right at opening, and the service was excellent from start to finish. We shared several dishes as a table. The gumbo was FIRE and super hearty. We ordered one bowl and split it, and it was still plenty. We also tried the fish and grits, fried green tomatoes, chicken, and short rib with mac and cheese. My favorites were the fish and grits and the short rib, but honestly, everything was fantastic. The portions were generous and very filling. Cocktail-wise, the Uncle Honey (bourbon, ginger, honey, peach) and the Fannie Ward (Jamaican rum, lime, pomegranate, egg white) were divine. I’ve never been a fan of key lime pie, but this one made me reconsider..perfectly tart and sweet, and the crust was obviously the best part!! What made the experience so meaningful was how the restaurant highlighted powerful Black voices and elevated soul food classics with so much finesse and care. Can’t wait to come back and check out happy hour. Wishing this business all the success!"

I'm so glad that these dishes I experienced weren't just food with seasoning,but it was fresh and had flavor and was juicy when it needed to be, creamy when it needed to be and buttery yet not over powering.I came for my birthday to celebrate and this was so worth it. The only thing the was the most upsetting was that my stomach would not let me eat more. However, best believe round two coming for my leftovers. The servers are a professional class act. Very attentive and kind. Overall amazing and this restaurant did not disappoint this women on her birthday!! Definite keepsake for great food."
