Reviews Summary

Rendang Republic is celebrated for its authentic and flavorful Indonesian cuisine, with standout dishes like the Rendang platter and crispy fried chicken sandwiches. Diners appreciate the friendly service and unique menu offerings, though some note the limited seating can lead to long wait times.

"Amazing Indonesian Food and Great Service!
I recently visited this casual Indonesian restaurant with my friend, and we had such a great experience! We ordered a variety of dishes to try a bit of everything, and everything we tasted was absolutely delicious. The standout for us was the crispy chicken sandwich—so flavorful very crunchy.
The service was also excellent, very friendly and attentive. Highly recommend if you’re looking to try authentic Indonesian food in a relaxed setting!"

Erick Melendez

"They need more seating but everything was so tasty! This is a lot of food, so you should come hungry. Next time I come, I’d probably just get the white rice to save a little of money. The sandwiches all seem very good too.

The shoestring fries were great consistency but got soggy quickly and could have used way more seasoning.

The beef rendang was tasty and I’m glad they have a shrimp or garlic cracker to dip and change the flavor profile."

Sameet Sapra

"This was my first time trying Indonesian food and it did not disappoint- the flavors were awesome! The guy working there was very attentive and food was ready almost right away. We were the only ones in there at the time but the place is a bit small, so maybe not ideal for large groups, but definitely a spot to try if you're in the area."

The 25 Best New Restaurants In Chicago - Chicago

Wrigleyville’s most impressive new line-up isn’t on the Cubs, but at this Indonesian spot with a few tables and a small counter. Juicy coconut buttermilk fried chicken sandwiches have a podcast-worthy crunch. Duck Inn chicken hot dogs painted with sambal aioli and zippy acar acar relish could make a beef frank loyalist question their fidelity.
