Reviews Summary
Bang Bang Pie & Biscuits is celebrated for its exceptional, scratch-made pies and incredibly flaky, buttery biscuits, with many praising the unique rotating flavors and the cozy atmosphere, including a charming patio. However, some reviewers have expressed concerns regarding cleanliness practices and found the biscuits to be less appealing than the pies, with one noting them as tasting like undercooked cornbread.
"You need to go out of your way to come here! I had an amazing savory biscuit with scrambled eggs. The biscuit was thick, buttery, and flaky. The key lime pie was great, but not perfect. I will be back when it’s warmer to try other pie flavors and enjoy their back patio."

"So happy we went out of our way to stop here! Everything we had was delicious! The pie dough was perfectly baked, flaky and flavorful. Highly recommend jam & cream on a biscuit - it was warm and light and delectable. This was our first stop in Chicago, driving from Detroit and reminded me of our own local pie shop, Sister Pie, but BangBang Pie & Biscuits had menu items for breakfast, lunch and dinner - plus a pie garden. Such a cute and unique place, I hope to come visit again the next time I’m in the city."

"I've been coming to Bang Bang Pies for about 12 years! It's one of my favorite places to talk about and visit when I come through Chicago. It has evolved over time, but thankfully has maintained its delicious staples: homemade biscuits, butter, jam, and cheese grits.
It’s a great stop, especially for bringing out-of-town visitors. The menu is simple, the prices are reasonable, and there's always friendly service. There’s seating inside and a nice courtyard with seating outside.
And their pies are the best I've had in the city. Order early for those!"

The 25 Best Bakeries In Chicago - Chicago
The draw at this Logan Square spot is, unsurprisingly, pie and biscuits. The biscuits are large and slightly crisp, moist and fluffy inside, and involve a lot of butter (in the dough, and on the side with some seasonal jam). And the biscuits are almost as good as the outstanding pies.

Tucked compactly in Logan Square, Bang Bang has a small variety of pies that are available on the regular — a must-try key lime pie — but the only way to truly experience all that the little bakery/cafe has to offer is to show up on a first come, first served basis to see what delights are available per day. A pie shop whose owners believe that keeping things simple is the key to success, Bang Bang only serves a few pies at a time: a fruit pie, a chocolate pie, and a frozen pie. Because they’re able to focus on such a small menu each day, what they make tastes, looks, feels, and smells exceptional. They also offer buttermilk biscuits that are otherworldly and are served with gravy or a variety of butters and jellies.

It’s safe to say when I reached out for recommendations, Bang Bang Pie was the place that came out on top. When Erin Mcdowell (baker supremo at food52.com and author of The Fearless Baker) suggested I HAD to go, who was I to argue. I love American style pies, I think they’re the best of American baking and something I wish was easier to come by back here in London, the perfect thing for our cold wet climate.
