Reviews Summary
Acadia is a highly regarded two-Michelin-starred restaurant known for its exceptional service and artistic presentation. While many praise the sophisticated ambiance and standout dishes like truffle ravioli and exquisite desserts, some diners have noted that the flavors don't always match the visual appeal, leading to mixed experiences at this upscale establishment.
"I love this place. Mitchell and I have eaten in all of the best restaurants in Chicago, and this was the first, for which reason it maintains a special place in my heart for the really wonderful meals we ate, and how we were treated. They didn't have the wine I wanted, which was on their list, so they offered several TOP NOTCH choices of similar wines that were priced a lot more, for the same price. That's classy! That's why I brought them a gift bottle of wine from a top notch Rhinegau estate that was the gift of Theresa Breuer, which they were interested in considering for inclusion on their wine list."

"Great service, presentations and delicate food but not the best taste. We did 9 course plus 3 supplement courses. We spent close to 400 per person and with this kind of money I expect the best from every aspect. During this trip I visited 3 Michelin starred restaurant and Acadia was not the best one. I wish they can work on the flavor so it can match up with their presentation. Good experience in overall but won't go back for a while."

"Seafood and dessert are perfect. Service was great. Most Foods looks nice. The only problem is taste are not as good as they look like. To be honest, one star would be most it worth."

After he graduated from Kendall College, chef Ryan McCaskey took a gig as a pastry chef at an acclaimed Wisconsin restaurant. These days, he's the head honcho at two-Michelin–starred Acadia in the South Loop, where dessert is an important part of his 10-course tasting menu. Though the lineup of sweets is constantly changing, we were blown away by a bite that included roasted pineapple, zephyr caramel mousse and durian ice cream.

The Northeast coast makes a splash in the South Loop with this elegant enclave, where dishes are fresh, inventive, and often have a rather modernist touch. The seven-course tasting menu showcases the chef's culinary talents, and Acadia is unique in that its bar menu also has its own set of upscale bites, like Maine lobster rolls and a popular cheeseburger.

So good was McCaskey’s first menu, Acadia earned its first Michelin star just 10 months after opening and achieved two-star status in 2015.
