What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Renzo is highly praised for its exceptional wood-fired pizzas and inventive approach to classic dishes like the Caesar salad. Many diners rave about the quality of food and impeccable service, highlighting unique flavor combinations and delicious homemade ranch dressing. However, some guests have experienced negative interactions with service staff, and parking can be a challenge in the neighborhood.
"Came for an early dinner with some friends before a show and was not disappointed. Located in a little pocket sort of near Hampton Park, expect to spend a minute circling the block to find parking. Renzo is unassuming but light and bright in a corner spot with tables and booths and a normal bar. We were early enough for unexpected Happy Hour specials (on a Saturday) and took full advantage - meatballs and discount cocktails. Meatballs were soft and moist and flavorful with 4 per order. Miso were better than the Roman (strong sauce with almost raw garlic) but we liked both. Drinks were all solid, from Happy Hour on. Get the guava-lychee drink. The rest of the menu is split into pizzas and not pizzas and we picked a few from both. The Caesar and most other dishes are perfectly portioned for one or to share amongst a table of four. We ended up having the Caesar, two “not pizzas”, the two orders of meatballs, and two pizzas and it was perfect for our group at a great price. Some dishes were a split like/don’t like (lemony potatoes & desserts), but as a whole we didn’t have a bad bite. A great spot for a little less than a la fancy pizza & pasta dinner, Renzo delivers."

"Neighborhood pizza spot you have to check out! Limited seating so make a reservation, have patience to wait or arrive early to snag some bar seats. Staff has been nothing but kind to us over the years whether we’re grabbing to go or dining in! Also, we've never had an experience here that was a "miss". 11/10 every time - service, food, environment, etc. Our favorites: their margarita pizza with a side of hot honey, lemon potatoes and blueberry budino.
Parking recommendation: it’s downtown and on a street with limited parking, so find a spot in the neighborhood and enjoy the walk if able bodied, if not i’d recommend ubering or dropping your party member(s) off at the door."

"Super dope place we went to on a Saturday night. Staff were friendly and attentive. Unbeknownst to us we were there during happy hour. Got the miso, and Roman meatballs which were delish. We followed that up with a margarita pizza which was just perfect. Only negative is the parking but if you live in Charleston you know how to overcome and figure it out."
