4 | Susuru | Situated in downtown Orlando, Susuru is a stylish ramen house that offers traditional ramen with a modern twist. Some of the most popular dishes include their signature Spicy Tan Tan Ramen, Tonkotsu, and Tori Paitan. The portions are pretty big, so if you’re only feeling a little peckish, Susuru also offers small bowls and plates, which are equally delicious.

Chef Lewis Lin’s retro Japanese izakaya has kids lining up around the block at the Disney Springs-adjacent restaurant, serving up ramen and yakitori in authentic Japanese Showa-era collectibles. You’ll find yourself gazing deeply into the eyes of an adorable Godzilla toy while seated on a retrofitted sake barrel. The interior is playful, tasteful, and extremely well done.

Head over to Susuru, a modern Japanese ramen shop that’s quickly become a local favorite. This family-friendly restaurant in Orlando offers a vibrant atmosphere, delicious food, and a unique dining experience that will have everyone slurping with delight. If you’re looking for a place with a vibe, then Susuru is the place to go. It’s one of the only restaurants in the area that isn’t a tourist trap, so it makes for a great ramen spot in Orlando that’s near Disney. Susuru gives you the Izakaya experience, an array of Japanese craft beers, and plenty of grilled meats and small plates to accompany.

What makes Susuru one of my favorite Japanese restaurants is how playful and energetic the space is. Home to the anime lovers this spot brings to you a combination of Japanese memorabilia both past and present with “instagramable” cocktails and authentic Japanese street food. I discovered this place by accident after coming out of work.

SUSURU is a shōwa-era, retro-themed restaurant with izaka, yakitori, ramen, and cocktails. A place to surely have your taste buds craving food all the way from Japan!. Kick off the meal with traditional Japanese street food like yuku corn, gyoza with wings, or seaweed salad.

Known as a local retro izakaya- a Japanese bar serving alcoholic beverages and food. SUSURU is a very unique eatery where they are decorated with memorabilia of the Shōwa era. Their menu offers ramen, yakitori, kushiyaki, yasai, and more authentic Japanese cuisine.

If you can get a seat at the popular dinner spot Susuru, chances are you are going to go all out. If that isn’t in the budget however, their ramen bowls are filling and fall between $13-$14. So go enjoy the vibe with your friends but keep it affordable.

In the end, Yugiri Ramen Project won third place, Susuru won second place, and Chef Yuhi Fujinaga of Morimoto Asia won with his Surf N’ Turf Ramen, donating the $3,000+ check to Give Kids The World Village located in Kissimmee, FL.

Susuru : equal or worse than Domu in every way (at least ramen wise), really liked the ambiance and nostalgia appeal, but I would never return for the food.

Susuru – All the manga paraphernalia and 1950s-era Japanese nostalgia can’t distract from some of the best yakitori you'll find in the city.
