"Probably now my favorite restaurant and cuisine. The staff is personable with great food recommendations. I visited 4x during my week long stay. Tried 8+ dishes and was not disappointed whatsoever! Tutu and her colleagues are intentional with service and the hospitality is definitely received. "While on spring break, my son and I stopped by Taste of the Himalayas, located in a charming shared village setting in Carlsbad. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by the host and seated right away. The environment was very family-friendly, with both indoor and outdoor seating available (outdoor spaces were cozy with nearby heaters, perfect for the 65° weather).
I ordered the tandoori chicken while my son went with his go-to, chicken tikka masala. We also enjoyed a chai tea and his favorite, a mango lassi, which didn’t disappoint! The flavors were rich, comforting, and clearly made with care.
We appreciated being able to pay with cash, and the overall experience was spontaneous yet memorable. Thank you to the staff for your wonderful hospitality and for sharing such a beautiful culture through your food and service."

"Not a lot is open late for food in Carlsbad so we stumbled upon this spot and could not have lucked out more! The food was incredible but the staff made the experience even better. Everything was served quickly and adjusted to each of our spice levels. I was with my vegan girlfriend and everything was clearly pointed out to her on the menu. The waitress also asked if she could put us on their Instagram stories and it was so fun to see they capture everyone. I couldn’t recommend more!"

Knowledgeable staff enhance the experience by guiding guests through the menu, ensuring that gluten-free options are both flavorful and satisfying, perfect for relaxed meals with family or friends. This is one of my favorite restaurants (this location AND the Hillcrest one, too!) The employees are great and the food is better than most similar places closer to my home.
