After seven years baking and selling their wholesale breads out of an industrial park kitchen in Carlsbad, siblings Louie and Clinton Prager opened their first stand-alone Prager Bros. retail shops during the pandemic. The first opened in Encinitas in April 2020 and a second debuted last May in Hillcrest. The Pragers are known for their Old World-style, hand-formed, naturally leavened, organic sourdough and yeasted breads made from house-ground whole grains.
