Reviews Summary

Calistoga Roastery is a beloved local spot praised for its delicious and affordable coffee, hearty breakfast sandwiches, and friendly atmosphere. While most reviews highlight the cozy vibe and excellent value, a few customers found the cappuccino quality to be disappointing, with one noting the espresso itself was over-roasted.

"A great place to stop for amaizing coffee and quiche. Also, the blueberry and raspberry and almond scones are delicious.
Great atmosphere and service.
Come enjoy and you can thank me later."

The AZ Trav

"This is one of the worst cappuccinos I've had. They have no roaster, so don't let the name confuse you. They make cappuccinos like when you might get in Nebraska. My cappuccino had twice as much foam as you would get in a normal latte. And it's the foamiest foam. I had to dump 3/4 of it out onto the plate to try to simulate a normal cappuccino. Espresso itself is poor quality and over very roasted/burned."

David Hyman

"Spacious roastery with indoor and outdoor seating that serves coffee, pastries, and sandwiches.

Food: The breakfast sandwich was tasty and normal size. The iced latte was decent. Maybe their regular coffee is a better choice based on other reviews.

Atmosphere: There is spacious indoor seating and a few tables outside.

Price: Fair price for the food and drinks. They aren’t expensive.

Parking: Street parking is available in front of the restaurant and along the store fronts."

Top 10 Coffee Shops in Napa Valley

There are some things about an intimate neighborhood coffee shop that simply cannot be captured in a company’s nationwide rollout of locations. These meaningful intangible attributes, along with the artistry of exceptionally roasted coffee, are exactly what Clive Richardson hoped to bring to the small town of Calistoga when he became a Coffee Bean + Tea Leaf corporate office defector and opened Calistoga Roastery in July of 1992. Stop in, make yourself at home, and remember to get there early for your choice of their locally-renowned bagels, they go fast!
