Reviews Summary

Bleu Northeast Kitchen is praised for its upscale, locally sourced seafood and American dishes, with many highlighting the ambiance and quality of the food. While the sustainable sourcing and fresh flavors are frequently lauded, some diners noted the restaurant's limited seafood options and occasional service inconsistencies. The restaurant offers a sophisticated yet comfortable dining experience, often enhanced by live music, making it a popular choice for special occasions and a pleasant meal out.

"Had a really great time here. Went for an anniversary and it was the perfect ambiance. Our server was very pleasant and nice. I ordered the arctic char and my partner ordered the market fish, and they both were delicious! We ordered the delicata squash and bread for appetizers and they were scrumptious! I was sad they were out of the clam chowder but will just have to go back another day! Would definitely recommend and I wish it wasn’t dark so I could have seen the stunning view of the water!"

"we visited this restaurant with our two kids on new year’s day, hoping to start 2025 with a pleasant family breakfast. unfortunately, the service we received from a waitress named HAZEL, who had two braided pigtails, was nothing short of discriminatory and unprofessional.

we ordered 4 breakfasts, but only 3 were served(as photo). HAZEL gave my meal to a single woman who arrived after us. when we called her back to ask, she casually admitted her mistake, saying my meal would be remade and even mentioned that the item would be removed from our bill. however, this promise was not kept—what we received was an incomplete bill with unclear charges. we paid $100, but the bill only showed around $40 worth of items, covering barely half of what we ordered.

when my meal was finally served, HAZEL placed it on the table WITHOUT a single word of apology, NO smile, and NO acknowledgment—just a cold, dismissive attitude.

what made this experience even worse was the stark contrast in her demeanor. she was ALL smiles and warmth toward the two nearby tables of white customers but treated us, as an asian family, with indifference and disrespect.

I refrained from confronting her directly in front of my children to avoid creating an uncomfortable scene, but this behavior is unacceptable. on such a meaningful day, her actions completely ruined our mood.

respect and professionalism should be given to all customers, regardless of their background. HAZEL’s behavior was not only disappointing but also reflects poorly on the restaurant as a whole.

"We were famished and had a few of their entrees to share, it was more than enough food!
We had fries, crunchy and fresh, salty enough but could serve with more mayo.
The seafood chowder was good but could be thicker. The scallops were perfectly cooked and the corn salad complemented them nicely but it could use a bit more salt. The sliders were a nice surprise, lots of ingredients that worked very well paired together. We adored the whipped cheese toast with peaches and cured ham. The lemony flavor of the cheese and the softness of the brioche bread were perfection.
The service was very nice.
It's a hotel restaurant and the vibe checks in. During our dinner, they had live musicians.
Overall a great experience."

Bleu Northeast Seafood prides itself on sourcing seafood raised in sustainable fisheries and served simply, to preserve the fresh flavour. The fish itself arrives from the cold Atlantic water of the New England coast, Alaska and the Maritimes, paired with flavours that reveal the sophistication of the chefs, drawing out unseen tastes and textures. Begin with a flourish and enjoy fresh shucked oysters served with mignonette, hot sauce and American caviar or perhaps Mount Desert Island mussels in a tomato saffron broth served with roasted fennel, a splash of absinthe, rouille and croutons.

Where to get lobster rolls at Burlington-area restaurants

This is one of the few downtown Burlington restaurants with lobster rolls where customers won't also get the view of the lake, but that doesn't seem to detract from the overall dining experience. The restaurant, which is attached to the Burlington Courtyard Harbor Hotel, gets 4.2 out of 5 stars on Google, and 4.3 out of 5 on OpenTable. The lobster roll only appears on the restaurant's dinner menu, so you may be out of luck if you're hoping to have it for brunch.
