"Truly a little gem on the city. A beautiful patio, bar area is wonderful inside. The food was amazing. I only had the appetizers but more than sufficient. The service was excellent. Truly a great experience by yourself or with a date."

"The bartenders, Bob and Gary, were incredibly personable, making Mother's feel welcoming. The decor set a great vibe for the restaurant. I would have liked to have seen more local beer options. The tastes were good overall, but every dish had room for improvement. The pork belly was phenomenally cooked, but the sauce tasted entirely too sweet, detracting from the dish. The walleye was also cooked perfectly, but the sauce lacked emphasis, and the veggies were absent of any seasoning at all. The cocktail was also a bit too sweet. I would absolutely go here again, despite those comments."

"Normally, Mother's has always been a 5 star restaurant to me but my last experience has me putting 4 stars. I'm hoping our bad experience was just because it was a late night visit.
I always have to order the scallops and black fettuccine because it's one of my favorite dishes. This time, the pasta was completely overcooked and mushy and the scallops were overdone and rubbery. My boyfriend ordered a medium rare steak with green beans and the steak was well done and the beans were practically raw and cold. We also ordered the crab cakes which were underwhelming.
We went after a show downtown without a reservation so they seated us outside on the heated patio. After close to an hour of waiting (thinking the waiter forgot to put in our order) our food came. By then, it was 11pm and we wanted to go home so felt no need to complain. We ate what we could and left. I'm sad this visit put a stain on my view of Mother's but I want to reiterate that this was always one of my favorite restaurants. I'm going to hope this was a late night fluke but I wanted to give an honest review of our latest visit!"
