Reviews Summary

Roberto's is praised for its authentic Italian cuisine, particularly the unique tinfoil-baked pasta dishes and the personal touch of Chef Roberto Paciullo. The ambiance is often described as cozy and welcoming, with attentive service. However, some diners have experienced slow service and found the atmosphere to be loud and crowded, with occasional disappointment in food quality.

"Roberto has been one of my all-time favorite, chef Roberto himself comes around greeting his guest if his in ,food is always great the pasta, meat and a very good wine list make this place one of my favorite in Arthur ave...let's don't forget about the service always checking on the tables for any minor detail."

sofi hernandez

"It must have been sold. It was absolutely horrendous from the eggplant and no zucchini starter with cold tomato sauce to the gelatinous mess they called sauce on a pork chop that was billed as double cut that was butterflied open with a spicy sauce of fried tough artichokes and over fried potatoes. The special pear ravioli had no pears five anemic discs of flat pasta with tasteless filling. Only the one glass of Pinot noir was good. I have no idea what has happened here but it was the worst meal ever in The Bronx!!!"

"Food was good. Service was very slow. Restaurant was very loud - hard to talk"

13 best restaurants and bars in the Bronx, New York

Put your hungry self in the capable hands of Roberto Paciullo, a Salerno native who runs a no-frills eatery in the Bronx’s venerable Italian enclave. Grab a seat at one of the wooden tables, and let Paciullo create a proper four-course feast from the blackboard specials. Tasty, tentacle-heavy grilled calamari has the meaty consistency of steak; tinfoil-baked radiatore come bathed in a vibrant red sauce or olive oil; and short ribs ossobuco shines in a rich chili-pepper-and-beer red wine sauce and paired with risotto and cannellini beans.

This space is as ideal for big groups as it is for romantic evenings. Inside, you’ll find a cozy, carved-wood bar and generously sized tables lit by candlelight. In addition to the regular menu (think wonderful, fun shapes of pasta al cartoccio as well as other classic entrées like grilled pork chop), it’s always worth a look at the chef’s delicious daily specials.

Eating Around The Bronx’s Little Itay On Arthur Avenue

But his flagship is Roberto’s, now open fifteen years, and actually around the corner from Arthur Avenue. It’s a handsome, two-level place with a wine list of enormous breadth and depth. Coming from a family of eleven kids, Roberto is not about to skimp on his portions, and, although his menu prices are slightly higher than elsewhere in the neighborhood, it’s because his food is quite different, quite seasonal and based on expensive ingredients no one else is using.

New York Italian Food Restaurants: 10Best Restaurant Reviews

Modeled after a classic restaurant in downtown Salerno, Roberto's was an instant success in this corner of likely the most authentic Little Italy in New York right now. The scene is convivial, even a tad rustic thanks to elements like the wooden, farmhouse-style tables (great for larger parties). Homemade pasta dishes are delivered in deliciously heaping portions, but wise regulars know to check the chalkboard of daily specials before they order.
