What Travellers Say

Reviews Summary

The Kitchen American Bistro is praised for its vibrant atmosphere, inventive tapas-style dishes, and excellent service. Many rave about specific items like the roasted carrots, gnocchi, and halibut. While generally well-received, some diners find certain dishes, like the crab fried rice, to be overly salty, and pricing can be a consideration for some.

"The atmosphere here was great. The bar on the upstairs while you wait for your table was fantastic with great bartenders. The food was great as well, especially the halibut. The crap fried rice is a bit salty so I wouldn’t do that again, but the gnocchi was fantastic! House wine is pretty good as well!"

Jin Kang

"This is a spectacular shareable, quasi-tapas style bistro that offers eclectic flavors, combining cuisines, yet offering pedigreed options.

Crispy cauliflower grants a surprise at each bite, as it's heretogrnous architecture creates a new facet of flavors at each corner. Texture on the cauliflower was gratifyingly hearty. The (what I will call "curried") hummus base was flooring in aromatics and really cuts through the flavors

Burrata was brought together by the salsa verde and really carried flavor into the creamy texture of the goat cheese. Lamb arayas have a je ne se quoi (nutty from pine nuts?) quality that was stunning on the first bite. Great texture on the lamb. Pita was crispy and holds the spiced lamb well.

The shrimp a la plancha features a gravy, which brings a necessary acidity to round out the meaty texture on this truly jumbo shrimp."

Aaron Beyk

"First time here and celebrated my birthday! The staff was attentive, kind, fun & overall just lovely. Our server was “Chris” (unsure of spelling) and he was fabulous and provided great service! The food was super good and served fresh (i think its 30 seconds from when its done in the kitchen that it gets brought to the table). Its shareable style dishes. We had the cauliflower which was incredibly flavorful and creative, the carrots which were phenomenal, the shrimp was delectable and I could bathe in the sauce its in 🤤 and the roasted chicken and fries! As well as some decadent chocolate peanut butter crunch mousse deliciousness. YUM! The lighting is low, vibes are fun and modern. I had an NA mocktail and it was super tasty as well! Thank y’all for such a wonderful experience"

Best Brunches In Boulder, Colorado

The Kitchen is reminiscent of an elegant New York-style restaurant and raw bar, with a clean and open space, sharply dressed wait staff, and a line out the door. The interior is classic exposed brick and piping, with old-fashioned chalkboard menus on the walls. Choose from a selection of oysters or charcuterie to start and upscale brunch fare entrees like the Goat Gouda Omelette or Lemon Ricotta Pancakes to follow.

Best of Boulder 2020 — Food

Eating tapas at The Mediterranean Restaurant is a quintessential Boulder dining experience. Or it was — The Med closed in June 2020. But its tapas menu will be dearly missed: polenta con miele (crispy polenta, Prosciutto di Parma, blue cheese and chamomile honey), the bacon-wrapped Medjool dates and the aceitunas al horno (steamed Manila clams with chorizo, garlic and stewed bell peppers and onions.) Cold plates included cheese and charcuterie plates, or the hummus, burrata or tuna tartare (served with oranges, jalapenos, olives, toasted olives and a lime soy vinaigrette).

Boulder, CO Restaurant Guide

I know I’ve already mentioned it and linked to my former statements, but I can’t have a restaurant guide about Boulder that doesn’t properly outline why this place is amazing. The Kitchen is actually a family of restaurants across Colorado (and now Chicago too) but the original location is along Pearl Street in Boulder. The Kitchen restaurants are built by a community of craftsman, serving food & drink from local farmers, ranchers and purveyors for the sustainable enjoyment of the whole community.

Best Casual Dining: Editors' Choice 2018

On the eastern edge of Lake Park overlooking Lake Michigan, Lake Park Bistro — the grand dame of Milwaukee’s dining scene — evokes a bit of Paris. Naturally, the wine list skews French and the menu — whether for lunch, dinner or weekend brunch (a prix-fixe menu makes the decisions easy) — features dishes you’d find in France. For example, starters like mussels and frites, beef tartare and pâté set the scene for heartier entrees such as Strauss veal chop, Dover sole and roasted duck breast.
