Reviews Summary

Avery Brewing Company is celebrated for its extensive selection of high-quality beers and friendly staff. Visitors praise the lively atmosphere, particularly the outdoor patio, and often mention the delicious food options, including smoked meats and unique dishes. While many have had fantastic experiences, there are occasional concerns regarding facility cleanliness and inconsistent management responses to family needs.

"Avery was an awesome brewery stop on our way up to Fort Collins. There was plenty of parking and the space itself is quite large with indoor and outdoor seating. There's a full food menu and tons of beer options on tap. All of the beers we tried were fresh and tasty, and the chips we got were nice. I'd appreciate the instructions to be a little clearer when walking in (see the host stand vs head straight to a table etc) but otherwise no complaints. Nice spot!"

Jeremy Yowell

"Loved the outdoor patio! The food was wonderful, especially the fennel slaw and the blackened salmon blt. The self guided brewery tour was a nice sneak peak of their process. Love that they’re dog and cyclist friendly. Close to Boulder. Huge selection of awesome beers brewed on site."

Shannon Smock

"Great beer, friendly staff and a comfortable outdoor atmosphere to drink beer with friends.
They have a huge selection of on draft beer and are kind enough to let you taste before you buy.
We didn’t have any food but it looked great.
I’d go back with friends or family, it’s a spacious, great brewery."

Best Breweries in Boulder, Colorado: Where to Get Good Craft Beer

Gunbarrel It was announced back in April that Founders Brewing and Spanish beermaker Mahou San Miguel acquired 70% of the beloved brewery that started pouring back in 1993. Regardless, the beer has always been some of the best statewide. From its coveted barrel-aged releases to the bevy of rotating, taproom-only beers (doppelbocks! Berliner weisses! Other styles lesser brewers would surely screw up!) that are certainly worth the short trek from Downtown Boulder to Gunbarrel, Avery remains a fixture in the local brewing scene.

The Best Bars In Boulder, Colorado

The Avery Brewing Company in North Boulder offers a rotating list of seasonals, stouts, imports, and local craft beers. From the outside, the state-of-the-art facility looks more like a science laboratory than a brewery, but the Tap Room soon dismisses this notion with a casual atmosphere and welcoming staff. The Avery offers upscale pub fare, guided brewery tours, an outdoor patio, and cleverly themed take-away beer packages.

Avery's interior, styled a bit like a European beer hall, is a fine place for a beer; even better are the red tables on the front patio, if the locals haven't filled them already. Avery has built its reputation on several well-liked bottled beers and a whole lot more taproom-only brews, usually among Boulder's most adventurous and varied. Triple IPAs, chocolate stouts and Belgians aged in wine barrels share the menu.

The Best Places To Drink Beer In Boulder, According To A Brewer

While I was going to school at the University of Colorado, Avery Brewing was my first brewery tour after turning 21 and the experience transformed what I thought was possible to create with malt, water, hops, and yeast (and maybe a barrel, some sugar, and spices). Known for their high gravity, barrel-aged beers, it’s a can’t miss stop while on a beer journey in Boulder. The open catwalk over the brewing floor is completely unique from any other brewery I have visited.
