Reviews Summary

Veggie Galaxy is celebrated for its creative and delicious vegan and vegetarian diner fare, with many praising the comforting classics and innovative dishes. The service is consistently noted as friendly and attentive, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. While most experiences are overwhelmingly positive, some minor concerns have been raised regarding pricing for upgrades and perceived sincerity of service.

"Veggie Galaxy is an amazing vegan gem! Everything on the menu can be made vegan, which is great if you are going with non-veg friends. They'll have options too.

We got the mozzarella sticks (daiya cheese + great seasoning with herbs), the chocolate peanut butter frappe (heavenly and filling!) and the banana bread French toast (also amazing and tasted like banana bread but better)!

The service was great, very attentive and quick. And the atmosphere felt very vintage but clean and cozy!"

Hippy Happy

"Had a fantastic experience at Veggie Galaxy. The service was warm and attentive, and everyone we interacted with was genuinely kind and welcoming.

We loved the food — the Oreo pancakes were absolutely decadent, like dessert for breakfast in the best way. The veggie burrito was delicious and perfectly spiced, and the three-bean chili had just the right amount of heat and depth. We also tried the onion rings — super crunchy, not greasy at all, and full of flavor.

There were so many tempting things on the menu, it was hard to choose. I’m already looking forward to going back to try the next ten dishes I couldn’t pick this time."

Decks By The Beach

"I would love to give 5 stars but a few things threw me off.

1. The outrageous price to upgrade from regular eggs or tofu to Just Egg. Ordered the breakfast burger and we were expecting Just Egg and was heavily disappointed with the flavor, texture and lack of consistency with the tofu. But a $6 upgrade to Just Egg? Come on! You can buy a carton for less than that. Then the incoherence of prices between that “upcharge” and ordering the Wise burrito which already comes with Just Egg and was absolutely insanely delicious. The burrito was $14 and absolutely worth it.

2. Servers were friendly but they looked like forced to be friendly. Not genuine friendly.

3. I recommend using “black salt” to sprinkle on Just Egg to add an eggy flavor. It’s the cherry on top and will make customers even question if it’s real egg or not. Should be added after cooking, not before or during.

4. The desserts were to my surprise all vegan and that was a HUGE plus. 🤘🏼❤️"

The Best Brunch Spots In Boston - Boston

The menu at Veggie Galaxy is made up of excellent comfort food that just happens to be mostly vegan, like biscuits and gravy, corned “beef” hash, and chocolate frappes. The plush booths, formica tables, and the glass display case full of glossy vegan cakes might look retro, but the menu is full of savvy plant-based substitutions. The Comet, with seitan sausage and citrusy mashed avocado, is one of the best egg sandwiches in town, and your friends just might write you into their wills for ordering the pancakes (which can be made gluten free) for the table.

17 Best Vegan Restaurants in Boston for Plant-Based Meals

This is a dream diner for the vegetarian and vegan crowd—all of the comfort classics most of us grew up on, but with none of the animal products. The Cambridge restaurant’s menu is a marvel of meatless innovation: breakfast sandwiches, BLTs with house-made tempeh bacon and "chick’n and waffles." Dishes are either vegan by default or can be made to be totally plant-based with some modifications. There's even a vegan bakery, which somehow manages to make tasty desserts without using eggs, milk or butter.

(See: heaps of hammy hash, bacon-topped everything.) The twist at Veggie Galaxy is that all the stellar plates are all vegetarian—and modifiable to be vegan—without sacrificing the craving for hearty comfort foods that draws us to diners in the first place. How to pick a single shining star from the all-day breakfast lineup and lunch-through-dinner offerings?. Start with the homemade biscuits slathered in southern-style seitan gravy, or swing by for a standout Wednesday-only special: a Nashville hot chick’n sandwich (it’s seitan, too) with enough spicy hot sauce to get you over the humpday slump.
