Reviews Summary

Brick & Mortar is lauded for its cozy, intimate ambiance and expertly crafted cocktails, creating a speakeasy vibe that's hard to beat. While many rave about the innovative food and attentive service, some find the prices a bit steep for the portion sizes or experience, particularly if seated in less desirable areas. Despite occasional inconsistencies, the unique dishes and overall atmosphere make it a memorable spot.

"Extremely cozy ambiance in your classic dark lighting interior with lots of exposed brickwork and music playing at just the right volume. Service was excellent and two of my party enjoyed a couple of very well made cocktails but on this visit I opted for a can of beer . Prices were about right for the quality of the cocktails but a little steep for a can of beer . Would definitely visit again when I have more time to stay later and get a little more relaxed."

"I had heard good things about Brick and Mortar, and now I know why! The drinks were delicious as was the food. I'd definitely come back.

I got the pussycat drink ($17) which was delightfully sweet and fruity. The anchovy toast ($13) had a really nice green butter on the bread, and a perfect mix of olives, peppers, and anchovy -- a really nice combo. I also really liked the "pizza" ($16) which had a lot of perfectly tangy-seasoned arugula, prosciutto, some cheese, and crispy chewy bread. The deviled eggs ($11) also had a nice horseradish kick to them, and the bacon wrapped dates ($11) were also good, but I liked the anchovy toast and pizza better.

I'd absolutely come back!"

"This place was great. And our server was great. Decor is tons of fun and food was delicious. I dined with someone with allergies and they handled the allergies really well as well.

Highly recommend."

Where To Eat And Drink In Central Square - Boston

Brick and Mortar is a speakeasy hidden above Central Kitchen that serves daiquiri shots. That’s reason enough to come here, but if tiny little glasses of tropical goodness aren’t enough for you, know that it’s also one of the coolest places in Cambridge to grab a drink, thanks to a small but well-done cocktail menu and a dark, modern space that feels like a loft party filled with people you’re actually interested in talking to. The small menu is great too, especially if you like stuff roasted wrapped dates.

20 Things to Do in Cambridge

Brick & Mortar may still be just as hard to find as its predecessor, the Enormous Room, but once you head through the nondescript door and up the stairs, the similarities end. A giant horseshoe-shaped bar and ample stool seating have replaced the low, rug-clad seating platforms and hybrid drink/bathroom line. The cocktails shine and the elevated bar snacks (which include prosciutto-wrapped deviled eggs and ooey goey garlic bread) are done just right.
