Brick and Mortar is a speakeasy hidden above Central Kitchen that serves daiquiri shots. That’s reason enough to come here, but if tiny little glasses of tropical goodness aren’t enough for you, know that it’s also one of the coolest places in Cambridge to grab a drink, thanks to a small but well-done cocktail menu and a dark, modern space that feels like a loft party filled with people you’re actually interested in talking to. The small menu is great too, especially if you like stuff roasted wrapped dates.

Brick & Mortar may still be just as hard to find as its predecessor, the Enormous Room, but once you head through the nondescript door and up the stairs, the similarities end. A giant horseshoe-shaped bar and ample stool seating have replaced the low, rug-clad seating platforms and hybrid drink/bathroom line. The cocktails shine and the elevated bar snacks (which include prosciutto-wrapped deviled eggs and ooey goey garlic bread) are done just right.

At 567 Massachusetts Ave in Cambridge is an unmarked door next to Central Kitchen. If you enter the door and head upstairs, you’ll find dim lighting, a horseshoe-shaped industrial bar, exposed-brick walls and some excellent imbibing options. Brick and Mortar is a hip speakeasy that prides itself on high-end cocktails and knowledgeable mixologists who use uniquely flavored bitters, house-made syrups and lesser-known liqueurs.

A boozie heaven (although there are a ton of mocktails as well), there are craft cocktails, pops, and shooters all served in a dark and sexy modern space. The four-shot DTO (daiquiri time out) is a fun opener to the evening, and the martini menu offers creative variations on the classic.

Tucked away in the second story of a building in Central Square, Brick & Mortar boasts a beautiful, horse-shaped brass bar and (surprise) brick walls. It’s a fitting atmosphere for its boozy house originals and classic covers, supplemented by a beer selection that places local craft brews alongside lawnmower favorites. It’s also a fine place to indulge in a local specialty: order a Daquiri Time Out and you’ll be rewarded with four, fun-sized cocktails.

One of the absolute best cocktail bars in Boston is found in Cambridge Central Square. Brick & Mortar is the name of this unmarked gem, and you're going to hear it before you see it. The bumping music may lead you to believe that the inside of this establishment boasts a dance party more catered to the local student population than the professors that teach them, but that isn't really the case.

This speakeasy gem isn’t easy to find – just walk through the unmarked door to the left of Central Kitchen and you’re transported to a cave-like room with a circular bar and fantastic drinks. The East India Sling, as a friend aptly told us, literally “tastes like India.” Maybe it’s the Batavia arrack or the angostura bitters. Whatever it is, we’ve never tasted a drink like it before, or since.

When I was in Boston a few weeks ago, I decided it was time to go find a burger spot I had been looking for in Cambridge. But this was not your usual burger spot. I first found this place when looking for a cocktail in Cambridge, having gotten a recommendation for “Brick and Mortar” along with an address of 567 Massachusetts Avenue.

Though Brick & Mortar makes great cocktails, it's also simply a neighborhood bar. Full of goofballs who know how to make great drinks, Brick & Mortar knows how to party, and they have the turntables to back it up. Often the menu is full of $6 shooters and cocktails that range from Margaritas to spur-of-the-moment inventions.

Brick & Mortar, a speakeasy cocktail bar nestled in Cambridge, offers a sleek ambiance that will make you feel infinitely cooler just by walking into the space. They offer light bar snacks but their bread and butter are the craft cocktails with iconic names like “electric kool-aid acid test” and “dto - daiquiri time out.

We’ve been enjoying this cocktail bar for decades, and it always slips my mind because there’s no sign out front. A great date spot, they also host a lot of events here and cocktail classes. If you're in the mood for a speakeasy, visit Brick and Mortar. This Central Square cocktail bar has won awards from Time Out and Boston Magazine as one of Boston's best bars. Guests can sample cocktails referencing pre-prohibition and Golden Age eras, like the Hemingway Daiquiri.

The bacon wrapped dates and deep-fried house made pickles are a must try here. This place could be a little difficult to find. But trust me, its worth a find because the drink and food here is mouth-watering.
