What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Bamboo on 2nd is highly praised for its inventive sushi rolls, delicious momos, and hearty ramen bowls. The atmosphere is noted as sleek and modern, with a full bar offering creative cocktails. While the food consistently receives high marks, some diners have reported less than ideal experiences with service, particularly regarding attentiveness and initial greetings, though management has been receptive to feedback.
"During my first visit to Bamboo on 2nd (my wife’s second visit), I enjoyed some good sushi, some fried green beans, and maybe the best ribs I’ve had in a decade or two, glazed in what I believe to have been Korean bbq flavors.
We were greeted and treated well by the host, who was obviously a professional and did a wonderful job accommodating us at the sushi bar despite a crowd.
The bartender, also busy, did a great job with customer service by taking a few extra moments with us and not dismissing us as soon as he could. I discovered a new craft beer that I really enjoyed.
Our server was very capable and did a good job describing a menu item that I had questions about.
Overall, I’d say that this is a go-to sushi spot for people that appreciate customer service and a welcoming environment."

You cannot have a bad time here!
We often put our names down and grab a cocktail down the street if there is a wait- so always makes for a fun date night!
Great to come with 4 people but have also made it with a bigger group! Tables can be accommodating for more- jusy may have to wait- will be worth it!"

"First Time Visitor. Great Atmosphere. The servers were very polite and Attentive. I started with The Seared Tuna Ponzo it was a great starter with a little kick because of the jalapeños. I ordered the Wham-BHam as my Main dish and I must say i was suprised it was very Good. Would definitely recommend while visiting Birmingham."

Bamboo's rice is always too cold and they leave the rolls sitting out for too long. Fish has been fishy several times . Honestly I like publix sushi better.
