What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Milk & Honey Kitchen receives praise for its fresh, made-to-order sandwiches and charming ambiance, making it a popular lunch spot, especially for those visiting Acadia National Park. However, some reviews mention long wait times for food and inconsistent quality, with a few diners experiencing disappointing dishes and service issues. The unique sandwich creations and pleasant atmosphere are often highlighted as positives, while slow service and occasional food quality concerns are noted drawbacks.
"I love this place so much that I’m sitting here thinking about it from 450 miles away. From the day they opened we have loved this cafe but we loved Eliza’s food even longer. Eliza made our wedding cake 12 years ago, and people still talk about it to this day. The baked good are amazing, the food is spectacular, they are vegetarian friendly, and the iced tea is something I wake up thinking about. Do yourself a favor and get away from the crowds of Bar Harbor and head to the tranquility of Northeast Harbor and the delicious food of Milk & Honey."

"Super friendly. And to be honest the greatest egg salad sandwich I have ever had. The pickled green beans on it were delicious! The chocolate chip cookie with sea salt was a great treat after hiking in acadia."
Samantha Powell-Parisi
"This is the first restaurant review I have written, but my experience here was possibly my worst ever. We waited over an hour for basic sandwiches. I ordered a simple ham & cheese with lettuce and tomato. No tomato, dry tasteless bread and 2 small squares of cheese on each half. I only at half and three the rest away."

What to See, Eat, and Do on the Way to Acadia National Park
With the afternoon ahead, head for Northeast Harbor, grab salads and sandwiches at Milk & Honey Kitchen, and take lunch just up the road to Asticou Terraces, where stone staircases lead to a gazebo overlooking the harbor. (Thuya Garden, at the top of the staircase, is closed through June 18 but Asticou Azalea Garden opens its gates on May 7.) From here, a quick drive northeast along Route 3 will take you back into the heart of Acadia’s east realm and here, you’ll make a decision. Climb to the summits of Cadillac and Dorr Mountains via the Ladder Trail—a tough 4.2 mile loop hike to the island’s high points on a path with iron ladders—or take a more meditative journey along the clifftop Ocean Path as afternoon sunlight paints Acadia’s coastline with golden accents.
Top 5 Places to Eat Outside Bar Harbor, Maine
Located 20 minutes from Bar Harbor in Northeast Harbor, Milk and Honey offers a great selection of breakfast and lunch items. They make everything in house and their baked goods are incredible. We got their breakfast sandwich on their scratch made biscuits and I would drive back there just for those.

Milk and Honey is located on Firehouse Lane a short walk from the marina. It is a café serving delicious sandwiches and baked goods, and it also provides catering services. Thursday nights they do fried chicken (and oysters maybe), coinciding with Open Gallery night.
