We still had some time before the rain hit, so we went into Bar Harbor to do a little shopping (did you even go to Maine if you didn’t buy maple syrup and some kind of blueberry related product?), and had a late lunch break at the Bar Harbor Beerworks because they were dog friendly and we love beer!. For the record, I tried the blueberry beer from Atlantic Brewing Co. and it was delicious.

If you need a break from shopping, stop in Bar Harbor Beer Works for a drink on its ground-level patio or second-floor deck looking out on the downtown. The pub has nearly three dozen Maine beers on draft, along with specialty cocktails and wine. For seasonal small plates, creative cocktails, and Ellsworth-made beer, visit Fogtown Brewing’s Bar Harbor taproom on Cottage Street.

Bar Harbor Beer Works bills itself as an all-American bar and grill. If you want some familiar foods, come here for the restaurant’s burgers, pasta dishes and, of course, fresh Maine lobster. (Their lobster cakes are pictured above. Yum!!) This establishment is great for families with children and large groups.

Savor the flavors of local craft beer at Bar Harbor Brewing. Established in 1990, this brewery offers a variety of handcrafted beers, including popular selections like Cadillac Mountain Stout. Visit the tasting room to sample their brews and learn about the brewing process while enjoying a relaxed atmosphere.

The Sand Bar Cottage Inn (106 West Street) has a new outdoor patio where they serve drinks every afternoon. It’s open to the public, and on Sunday afternoons (weather permitting), they have live music. It’s local musicians, usually a singer and/or guitar player.

Bar Harbor Beer Works is in the middle of it all right next to the Village Green. Dinner specials, unique burgers, great sandwiches and salads. Friendly, efficient service, with a variety of craft beers, inside and outside dining.

We also enjoyed Bar Harbor Beer Works, and highly recommend an evening at Reel Pizza Cinema for pizza and a movie!. And for breakfast- you have to check out the blueberry pancakes at Jordan’s Restaurant!

Bar Harbor Beer Works is a staple on a sunny day when adventuring in Bar Harbor. It’s a popular spot, so it can be hard to get a table, especially on the roof. But, when you get one, it’s worth it!.

We particularly enjoyed Fogtown Brewing, Finback Alehouse, Tap and Barrel, and Bar Harbor Beer Works. Geddys had a great selection of local Maine beer as well!
