Reviews Summary

Cinghiale is highly praised for its authentic Italian cuisine, exceptional service, and elegant atmosphere. Many reviewers highlight the handmade pastas, charcuterie, and attentive staff, making it a top choice for special occasions and date nights. However, a few patrons have noted slow service and small portions as potential drawbacks.

"We had an incredible first experience at Cinghiale and are already planning our return. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations — the ambiance was warm and elegant, and every interaction with the staff was thoughtful and welcoming. A special shoutout to Alejandro, our server, who was truly outstanding from start to finish.

He was not only kind and attentive but also incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. Every recommendation he gave us was absolutely perfect! We trusted his guidance completely and he delivered a 1000/10 experience. The food and drinks were exceptional. Cinghiale impressed us on every level, from service, setting and cuisine and we can’t wait to come back."

"We came to the harbor to visit. We ended up wanting to eat dinner, so we found this restaurant on Google. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted and sat down quickly. Our server Matt was phenomenal! Jake, the manager, was very professional and helpful as well! The food was really good! The short room was so good that I had two orders! The ice cream with espresso was incredible! We would definitely come back here again. As you walk in they have a station where they prepare cheese and Salamis. I was really excited to try that out until I saw the guy prepping eating a couple of bites which turned me off instantly. That was the only negative thing. I did bring it up to the manager and told him to talk with the worker to prevent that from happening again."

THE REVIEWER

"Boy, was Cinghiale a surprise—in the best way. We were visiting from Washington, D.C. over Labor Day weekend for a quick getaway to recharge and celebrate a birthday. We tried several different restaurants during our stay, but this one was hands down our favorite.

We debated where to go given its proximity to Little Italy and all the options there, but choosing Cinghiale turned out to be the best decision. They offer different menus depending on the experience you’re after—whether a more casual à la carte option or a prix fixe—and both looked amazing.

The atmosphere is fantastic. It’s tucked away from the busiest streets, so dining outside is peaceful, close to the water, and great for people-watching. Inside, the white-tablecloth wine room is elegant, and even the regular dining room and bar looked inviting. We opted for outdoor seating and had a quiet, comfortable night.

Service was outstanding—truly the best we had anywhere in Baltimore. Our server was warm, attentive, and full of energy. She gave thoughtful recommendations that really shaped our meal and even surprised us with a birthday glass of wine paired with our entrée, plus a candle with dessert. Those personal touches made the night feel special.

And the food? Spectacular across the board. The stone fruit salad and tomato-mozzarella salad were both refreshing and beautifully presented. The duck was incredibly tender and perfectly cooked. The stuffed pasta dishes were rich, flavorful, and a highlight of the evening. From appetizers through dessert, everything was balanced, thoughtful, and made with pride.

We walked away with zero complaints—just full appreciation for an incredible experience. Cinghiale set the bar high, and we’ll absolutely return on our next visit to Baltimore."

This is an Italian gem with strong flavors influenced by Northern and central Italian cuisine, including top-of-the-line charcuterie, house made pasta and the standout, grilled monkfish. Best Autumn Desserts In Baltimore

At Cinghiale, with Italian cooking that is both authentic and straight from the heart, it's no surprise this place has designed delectable fall-themed desserts to celebrate the richness of the season. Travis Marley, its pastry chef, has crafted a divine Italian apple cake called torta di mele that comes served with Calvados (or apple brandy) gelato, spiced apple marmelatta and apple chip. In addition to tastes of vanilla, lemon, crushed walnuts and cinnamon, the torta di mele is made with fresh Cortland, Honeycrisp or McIntosh apples that are sprinkled into the batter as well as sliced and fanned thinly across the top before the entire cake is sprinkled with a flavorful layer of cinnamon and sugar.

Walk through the doors of Cinghiale, and you’ll feel like you’ve entered La Dolce Vita. Well-heeled patrons swirl (glasses of Italian red) and twirl (squid ink spaghetti laden with lobster) in two different dining rooms—one formal, another with more of a casual vibe that includes a 40-foot bar made from Italian marble. At the center of it all, a salumeria station acts as an altar for a fantastic selection of charcuterie and imported cheeses.
