Root Down is lauded for its inventive, vegetarian-friendly dishes and excellent service, making it a standout even within the airport setting. Diners appreciate the unique flavors and healthy options, with many highlighting specific dishes like the ramen and sweet potato fries. However, some mention challenges with parking and accessibility from certain parts of Denver, and advise allowing ample time for dining due to potential service delays.

"A rare gem of airport food. I had the 1/2 soup and salad. The Thai carrot curry soup was spectacular, so was the farro Caesar. Surprisingly filling. The butterscotch pudding for dessert was also top notch. Cute, cozy vibe. Rachel was such a kind, efficient, and helpful server. Knowing this place is here makes me look forward to future connecting flights at DEN. Seriously, don’t snooze on this spot."

"My wife and I had a layover flight here on a Friday. We decided to go have a drink and snack here.

We ordered two Denver Beer Co Denver Gold Amber Lager and Hot Honey Sweet Potato Fries. Both beers and the fries were very delicious.

It was crowded when we went but that's okay. The bartenders were very friendly. It was nice to have friendly conversations with other travelers too.

It made for a nice relaxing time during a hectic travel schedule."

2025 Ultimate Guide to the Best Ramen in Denver

The ramen place to source a fantastic bowl before getting on a plane Denver International Airport. Root Down DIA exceeds all airport food expectations by delivering a particularly dope bowl of ramen at their location in Terminal C. Their Shoyu Ramen is made with a kombu broth, and includes mushrooms, bok choy, kimchi, a shoyu egg, and guanciale bacon. Surprisingly, this dish is not available on the regular menu at the original Root Down location in Highlands, so for now, you have a pretty decent reason to get to the airport early in order to get an opportunity to taste this delicious bowl.
