Reviews Summary

Gigi's Italian Kitchen is lauded for its exceptional, Michelin-level food and charming, intimate atmosphere that makes diners feel like family. While many praise the unique dishes, especially the tiramisu, and the welcoming service, some find the overall service attentive. The restaurant is celebrated for its quality ingredients and cozy ambiance, creating a memorable dining experience.

"I-LOVE-THIS-PLACE. It everything Atlanta is missing—from the food, to the atmosphere to the community. It’s reminiscent of a Brooklyn eatery. A quaint neighborhood spot with a charming interior. It’s Michelin level food with no frills service. From the jump, you’re treated like a friend of the team. The staff is so welcoming and friendly. Next up, the drinks. I got The Dirty Gigi and it was one of the best martinis I’ve ever had. It was so perfectly balanced. My husband had a sambuca spritz and peroni & house shot. The spritz & shot has wonderfully playful floral palette. It was the perfect summer sip. Now for the food. WOW. We had the Caesar salad, beef carpaccio, Iberian coppa
Steak, rigatoni fra diavolo, and tiramisu. All I can say is…holy sh*t. The food is award winning. Every bite was better than the last. This was truly one of the best meals I’ve had in a LONG time, and I can confidently say Gigi’s should own the top 10 list of best restaurants in Atlanta."

"Tiramisu is worth the hype. Steak was cooked really well although they didn't ask for preference. Not a full bar so limited drinks for cocktails. The polenta cakes were fine, crispy potatoes were surprisingly good. Biggest complaint is service - just didn't feel very attentive in general. You would expect better service with the vibe being intimate and cozy."

"what a find! our evening could not have been better start to finish. I love a small, local, community restaurant and Gigi's is spot on! we were fortunate to get a reservation on a busy holiday weekend and immediately felt at home in the front window corner. Gigi's knows the importance of quality ingredients, local sourcing, and a seasonal menu. old school neighborhood Italian decor, an environment that feels more family than staff, and community efforts make Gigi's a staple for us."

The 25 Best Restaurants In Atlanta - Atlanta

When we visit Gigi’s Italian Kitchen, we feel like we’ve been whisked away to another time, one that’s light on stress and heavy on delicious creamy pasta primavera with housemade cavatelli. If you snag a seat at the bar, you’ll see chefs in crisp white T-shirts preparing pastas, salads, and beef carpaccio in the open kitchen, where fancy dramatics take a backseat to plain old fantastic cooking. The red-checkered tablecloths, family photos, and always-burning candle could have fallen out of a romance novel.

75 Best Restaurants in Atlanta

Checkered-tablecloth nostalgia meets modern technique at Gigi’s, which has recently made the transition to full-time restaurant in the same Candler Park space where, several nights a week since last year, it’s been in a pop-up residency. Two young chefs, Eric Brooks and Jacob Armando, are behind it, offering a tightly curated, seasonally driven Italian menu with dishes like fried polenta cake with creme fraiche and caviar, brassicas cooked over a yakitori grill and seasoned with Calabrian chilis, and artfully plated housemade pastas and classic preparations like chicken Milanese. Replacing Nicholas Stinson’s beloved Gato, Gigi’s promises to be just as integral to the fabric of the neighborhood.

The 11 Best Restaurants in Atlanta Right Now

Tables adorned in checkered red and white, walls lined with family photos, and a worn candelabra prominently placed on the bar signal a red-sauce joint in an American Little Italy, but you won’t find lasagna on the menu at this intimate restaurant from chefs Jacob Armando and Eric Brooks. The two chefs met while working at Bacchanalia—the fine dining farm-to-table restaurant where many top city chefs have trained. In search of a project of their own, they decided Atlanta needed better Italian food.
