Reviews Summary

Bacchanalia offers an upscale dining experience with a strong emphasis on seasonal New American cuisine and exceptional service. Diners frequently praise the creative tasting menus and the elegant, industrial-chic ambiance. However, some guests have noted that portion sizes can be small for the price, and a few reviews mention inconsistencies in service or flavor profiles.

"We had dinner there for the first time for our anniversary. The cuisine was exceptional. We have always been fond of farm-to-table restaurants, as nothing tastes fresher than seasonal vegetables, especially when they are sourced from the restaurant's own farm.

Their services are exceptional as well. There was some bread left on the table that I felt bad about discarding, so I asked to have it boxed; they handed me a "coat check ticket" for picking it up on the way out. I liked the hassle-free service; it was nice and avoided the embarrassment of carrying stuff through the restaurant. When we checked out and picked up the leftover bread, the front desk lady asked if I would like some more bread; they packed it nicely at the front desk, ready to go. How nice! It exceeded my expectations; it's exceptional service, truly Southern hospitality.

The atmosphere was remarkably. The combination of farm style and contemporary warehouse-converted space created great appeal and vibes. We will definitely return for dining more frequently."

Hanhey Home

"I had been waiting since college to eat here so was glad to snag a reservation while in town. Service was impeccable and the ambiance had a industrial chic vibe. The food was all executed perfectly; maybe not particularly innovative. The cheese courses stood out. The set menu price was actually quite reasonably priced with multiple options to choose from"

Christopher Frey

"I came here for my 40th birthday as a long time fan of Star Provisions. It was my first Michelin star experience and I was unsure if it would match expectations. Suffice to say, the price was worth the experience. The service was top notch and the food was simply fantastic. I was so incredibly full and satisfied by the end that I needed to be carried out to the car. They have earned their accolades in my opinion and I look forward to coming back!"

The Best Fine Dining Restaurants In Atlanta Georgia

Opened in 1993, Bacchanalia has been garnering attention from the press for its award-winning, farm-fresh fare. The five-course prix fixe experience ( cheese course, three savory courses, and a dessert course) offered by Bacchanalia is perhaps best defined by its adventurous picks, which range from bold options like veal sweetbreads with plum and garlic, to gulf crab fritters topped with Thai pepper, avocado, and citrus juices. Bacchanalia’s tenacious grasp over the Atlanta fine dining landscape seems to show zero signs of tenuousness.

All The Stars From The

Dark wood, a black industrial ceiling set with a constellation of Edison bulbs, and brown leather banquettes give Bacchanalia a handsome sophistication, yet there's nothing too precious about this longstanding spot. The multicourse prix fixe involves a bit of flair, with some dishes arriving on carts or nestled inside glass cloches, and the cheese course is a wonderful surprise. Rather than an expected slice, the team presents a clever take with a crumbly oat date cake and a dot of black garlic sauce surrounded by rings of parmesan.

The 20 Most Expensive Restaurants in Atlanta

A restaurant named after the festivals of Bacchus, the Roman god of wine, freedom, intoxication and ecstasy, is unlikely to be found serving up greasy fries and cheap hamburgers. And Bacchanalia, a restaurant that’s enjoyed a reputation as Atlanta’s most celebrated restaurant since it opened in 1993, is most certainly not. With a fresh, seasonal menu that includes indulgences such as Maine lobster served with dill, caviar, brioche, and shishito pepper; veal sweetbreads with pain perdu and preserved sunchoke; and roasted whole foie gras with peach, honey, and sage (a steal at just $200), there’s a reason it’s considered the high spot of the Atlanta restaurant scene.

75 Best Restaurants in Atlanta

Opening in 1993 in a charming Buckhead cottage, the first iteration of Anne Quatrano and Clifford Harrison’s hugely influential Atlanta restaurant brought much joy to a city where the prevailing style left little room for fresh, local ingredients. In 1999, a move to a then semi-industrial stretch of Howell Mill Road propelled the restaurant into the world of true fine dining, where its proprietors earned a well-deserved James Beard Award. Diners en route to their tables walked first through Star Provisions—the most advanced combination of butcher, seafood counter, cheesemonger, bakery, wine store, and gift shop—already in a daze of appreciation.

Baby Driver was the first time I can remember a movie unapologetically taking place in Atlanta. The characters speed down the Buford-Spring Connector, deliver for Goodfellas Pizza, and most notably, eat at James Beard Award-winning Bacchanalia, which the main character calls the “finest wining and dining of all the wining and dining.” It’s hard to beat that endorsement. On top of this, when he’s in the restaurant he sees Atlanta musical legends Killer Mike and Big Boi (let’s all just ignore Kevin Spacey standing between them).
