Reviews Summary

Astoria Coffee House & Bistro offers a charming atmosphere with delicious food, though some guests note a higher price point for self-service. While many praise the quality and generous portions of dishes like the butternut squash soup and chicken sandwich, a few reviewers have raised concerns about customer service and value. The eclectic decor and cozy vibe are consistent highlights, making it a popular spot for both casual bites and a more elevated dining experience.

"Stopped in for a quick bite on a cold winters day and this place did not disappoint! We weren’t super starving so we decided to split the butternut squash soup, which was absolutely the right call. It was hot, hearty, and plenty for two people to share - they even gave us extra sourdough bread. The cafe is super cute and linked to a cocktail bar with extra seating on the left and a local retail store on the right with even more seating and super cute local/handmade souvenirs. Overall this place was great and I definitely recommend. Thanks, Astoria Coffee House & Bistro!"

"We had a delicious and delightful dinner. Erin was our server. Our cocktails were tasty and the food was truly delicious!! Menu is eclectic. Highly recommend the Gyoza and the chicken sandwich!! Grab some pastries on your way out the door!! We had them at midnight and WOW!! Best carrot cake ever!! So moist and flavorful!!"

Candice Williams

"We really enjoyed the vibes here. Everyone in our family was happy with the food that they ordered and there was plenty of seating on a late weekday lunch.

In my opinion, it was a bit pricey for a place where things are self-service/bus your own table. We spent $56 for a family of 4. No drinks ordered, just self-service water, and we ordered a chicken sandwich, bowl of soup of the day, BLT, and one order of macaroni and cheese. The food was seriously delicious though! Everyone really enjoyed their meals.

Worth noting is that the portions were far larger than we expected."

Exploring Astoria Oregon – American Craft Beer

One of our last stops for the evening was this excellent restaurant and cocktail lounge. I didn’t check to see if they pour coffee, I was too distracted by the gorgeous surroundings, the exquisitely crafted vintage libations and their super fresh sushi which is their Monday night special. With all the deliciously unique food on the menu, the sturdy quality of their cocktails and their reasonable prices, this place can be dangerous, as it’s tough to leave.

Why Astoria is a hipster haven for people priced out of Portland

I could also see my brunch spot, Astoria Coffeehouse and Bistro, a quirky little cafe that blends chintz – cakes under glass domes – with modern, innovative bistro cooking. I was too early for dinner, but marvelled at the menu’s mention of ahi sushi with wasabi marinated purple cabbage.
