"Our first time in Asheville was a great experience. This restaurant has a great vibe to it. The food was delicious and our hostess Kelsey was AMAZING. She made sure we were well taken care of. Definitely recommend this restaurant and if ever in Asheville again, I know where I'm getting my Fried Green Tomatoes from!! The Brussel Sprouts were seasoned to perfection!! And my kids loved the fact that the chicken tenders automatically came with 3 different dipping sauces. 10 out of 10 experience for this family!!"

"This is a great place to get a taste of Asheville and enjoy good southern cooking with a creative twist! I got the pork and WOW! I love honey and hot sauce, so this was absolutely perfect for me. With my gluten, dairy and sugar issues, there weren't a LOT of options, most things are fried (which my friends loved). But the pork was safe, fries, collard greens and a few other things.. just not a ton of options for my allergies. Cub took care of us and he was really efficient, cool, and made sure our waters stayed full (which was perfect cause we were dehydrated). They have a good bit of outdoor seating (shaded) and tons of space inside- along with a nice bar. If you're looking for a lunch or decent meal downtown, this is worth a stop! Spent about 30$ for a nice meal with 2 sides."

"My husband and I stopped in for a couple of adult beverages and had the peach compote biscuit appetizer. So good. Bartenders were attentive and friendly.
We returned a little while later with the kids for dinner. Everyone was more than happy with their food. I got the shrimp and grits, and it was one of the best things I ate all week while in Asheville.
Would definitely return here should we ever be back in the area."

While you can visit any of its numerous locations sprinkled throughout the U.S., the original cafe was established in Asheville, NC in 2000, making our city the place to sample the traditional Southern cuisine with a healthy twist. Now home to Chef Eric Gabrynowicz, a four-time James Beard Award semifinalist who was named Top Newcomer from Zagat and voted Food and Wine Magazine’s “Peoples Best New Chef (New York),” this cafe is a delightful favorite of tourists and locals alike due to their scratch-made Southern food that revives and reimagines classic dishes.
