Reviews Summary

Limones is celebrated for its inventive modern Mexican and Californian cuisine, extensive cocktail list, and charming atmosphere. Diners rave about the creative dishes, particularly the ceviche, chile relleno, and carne asada, alongside their award-winning margaritas. While generally lauded for excellent service and a pleasant ambiance, some guests have noted slow kitchen times and limited vegan options.

"This was our first visit to Limones, even though we had often visited their sister restaurant, En La Calle, before it closed. We were celebrating a special night and had a party of 8. The waiter was super attentive and thoughtful of our kids by suggesting plates and non-alcoholic drinks that were special for them too. Each plate was delicious and made for a memorable evening."

Kimberly Nava Eggett

"My goodness- this was SUCH a good experience!! The restaurant was recommended so we came here for my birthday and it did not disappoint! Brad helped us, and was also training a lovely young lady- he helped us navigate the menu and make our ultimate food choices. We got the flautas and Chile relleno to start and they were both solid options, but I would definitely order the chile relleno dish again- comes with chips and it just really hits right! We split the carne asada meal and good golly it was so good- cooked at a perfect medium rare and seasoned so well. The potatoes and salad were solid additions as well! We sampled several margaritas: traditional, caliente, and blood orange. They were all SO good! (I’m not a typical flavored margarita gal- but the caliente and blood orange truly were the stars here). To finish, we had bread pudding and tres leches cake- seriously one of the best cakes I’ve consumed. The atmosphere, service, and food were all amazing. Highly recommend (and I WILL be back!))"

"Limones has a fantastic atmosphere, and the bar setup is not only convenient but also beautifully displayed. We started with the street corn as an appetizer—it was absolutely delicious.
For our mains, we tried the pork chop and the chicken tinga. Both dishes completely blew my mind with their presentation and flavor. The mix of ingredients created flavor combinations I never expected would work so well together—but they absolutely did!
Crystal and Klint took excellent care of us. Their drink recommendations were spot on. The watermelon citrus mint margarita exceeded all my expectations—refreshing, unique, and perfectly balanced.
If you're coming to Asheville, Limones is a must-visit. Great food, amazing drinks, and stellar service all in one place."

The 15 Best Restaurants In Asheville For A Date Night Out

I wasn’t sure what to expect the first time I tried Limones. I’m a huge fan of the regular old Mexican restaurant, with delicious dishes that feature lots of refried beans and cheese, but Limones really takes some of the core sensibilities of Mexican food and delivers them in a beautiful, classy setting. From the many options for a craft margarita (anything from a tamarind-infused Maya Margarita to the Elder Margarita that features St.-Germain) to the Ceviche Sampler that makes use of high-quality fish and shrimp, you’ll find that freshness is truly top of mind here.
