Reviews Summary

F Street Station is a beloved local spot praised for its excellent and reasonably priced seafood, particularly the halibut sandwich. Diners enjoy the casual, friendly atmosphere and attentive service, even when the place is packed. While the small size can lead to waits during peak times, the quality of the food and the genuine local vibe make it a worthwhile experience.

"Cool place just behind our hotel, The reviews were good and the food looked good too. It was Friday around 5 pm so it was busy, yet the service was quick, the beers were cold, and the food was fantastic. I had the battered Halibut and Mrs. had the clam chowder both were fantastic and reasonably priced."

Carl Clayton

"Great place! This was our first visit. Our server, Morgan, did a great job and was super nice. The food was great. The halibut fish and chips were outstanding. We also ordered a crab 🦀 sandwich and house wine. Highly recommend this place. During busy times, all the tables and bar seats could be full so you may have to wait a while for a table. 🍷"

Gayle V

"The best bar food that I had in a while! The restaurant is always crowded, so you may need to wait and few minutes until a seat is available. Likely it is going to be a seat at one of the bars. Get one where you see chefs cooking, it is a great show to see. My favorite was the King Salmon salad special, the fish was very fresh and tasty. Deep fried halibut is also very good."

The Top Restaurants in Anchorage

Long a favorite among international flight crews (aviation stickers adorn the walls around and above the bar), this beloved bar-and-grill is known for its deep-fried halibut (the “Texas” portion is half the size and price of the “Alaska” portion), and for the giant block of Tillamook Sharp Cheddar Cheese sitting atop the bar. The sign says it’s “for display only” (for liability reasons), but that doesn’t stop diners in the know from shaving slices off the top to enjoy while they wait for their meal.

Dining Out in Anchorage, AK

F Street Station is a small bar & grill, and I’m pretty sure it doesn’t seat more than 40-50 people. There was a line when I got there, and as soon as one group got up, the next group in line would seat themselves at the vacated table or spot at the bar. The halibut was very fresh, lightly breaded, and cooked just right.
