Sunday lunch at The Stables is served from 12 noon – 5.00 pm there is a choice between topside beef with horseradish sauce, roast turkey with cranberry crackling, and roast loin of pork with apple sauce or nut roast wellington. All are lovingly served with creamy mashed potato, crispy roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables, homemade Yorkshire pudding, stuffing and roast meat (or veggie) gravy. They also feature a seasonal menu and a children’s menu too.

We found The Stables a welcoming, friendly and extremely comfortable place to stay. The comfort of all the venue was outstanding, the food excellent quality and the customer service extremely friendly and professional. A short walk from Whitby (thank you to the member of staff who recommended the road with the footpath!), or next to a park and ride for those wet days, and beautiful countryside views from our room and the restaurant.

The Park and Ride (sat nav postcode: YO21 1TL), which is located at the A171/B1460 junction North of Whitby, opposite The Stables pub and restaurant, has 450 free spaces, and motorhomes are welcome to park there during the day in the overflow car park area. Parking is free; therefore, the only cost is the bus ride into Whitby, which for two adults, was £5.20 (2024).
