Reviews Summary

Diners consistently praise The Stables for its delicious food, especially breakfast items and homemade bread, as well as its friendly service and welcoming atmosphere. However, some reviews mention inconsistencies in evening meal service and occasional issues with mains and desserts.

"Have eaten here a few times and can recommend the burgers. Great garden area at the back with lovely views. Haven't stayed, but on looking at the room rates, it's a little steep for us. Bit too far out for a evening stroll into Whitby."

Melanie Thompson

"An exceptional hotel, with beautiful views! We came for a little getaway and had the best time here. The staff are really friendly, kind and super helpful. The food is honestly amazing, and we were blown away by both the variety on the menu and the outstanding quality of every meal. The rooms are superb, comfortable and luxurious. We feel really lucky to have found this little gem, and will endeavour to visit again. Highly recommended, cannot compliment the place enough!!"

Gemma Elsaadany

"Only commenting on the food, went 3 times on our stay in whitby the first was Sunday lunch which was OK but they forgot a coffee, second time was nice and the third time was a disaster, we were told to order our food first because they were busy, the starters came quickly but we waited at least 45 minutes for the mains to arrive two things were missing and one was not on the order so decided against waiting for it, the desserts took 45 minutes and one of them was inedible. To be fair they took all 3 desserts off the bill but we weren't the only people to have problems over the 3 visits and if we were staying any longer we would not return."

Top 10 Hotels near The Met Ballroom, Whitby 2024

We found The Stables a welcoming, friendly and extremely comfortable place to stay. The comfort of all the venue was outstanding, the food excellent quality and the customer service extremely friendly and professional. A short walk from Whitby (thank you to the member of staff who recommended the road with the footpath!), or next to a park and ride for those wet days, and beautiful countryside views from our room and the restaurant.
