If you and the dog have been for a wander along the South West walking trail you might have noticed one of The Springhead’s signs along the way which state “dogs, muddy paws and wet wellies welcome.” In fact the pub doesn’t just welcome dogs, it treats them like VIPs. While you choose between real cask ales, fine wines and spirits (they stock over 80 gins, and hold gin-tasting sessions), your dog can decide if she’s in the mood for a classic bowl of water or some Bottom Feeder beer for dogs. They also serve fresh home-made fare made from locally sourced ingredients where available, as well as sausages and Billy + Margot iced treats for furry customers!

The springhead pub/restaurant is set in an idyllic setting in Sutton Poyntz.With such a lovely setting and the quality of the decor we were expecting the food and drinks cost to be at the higher end.We had a lovely surprise to find realistic prices.Service by Kathy was was warm, friendly and welcoming.The food was great quality, nice and hot and plentiful.On a Friday night they have a special fish menu alongside the normal menu.We would thoroughly recommend the Springhead to others and look forward to visiting again when we visit weymouth.

This delightful country pub is just inland from Bowleaze Cove Holiday Park & Spa (formerly Waterside Park and Spa). Set in the small village of Sutton Poyntz, The Springhead is welcoming and characterful with a log fire for winter and glorious outside spaces for summer. The Springhead is surrounded by gorgeous countryside and is the perfect place to pop in if you are taking a trip to see the nearby White Horse.

Set in the tranquil village of Sutton Poyntz, excellent food, alongside fine ales, gins and wines create a warm welcome at The Springhead. The log burning stove burns throughout the winter and traditional entertainment, like the quiz night, ensure punters feel right at home. The duck pond opposite is great for children to enjoy along with the play area at the back of the pub.

The Springhead is a charming country pub with a surprisingly light and airy interior, including a few quirky decor choices and vintage touches. There is a mouth-watering menu and wide range of drinks to choose from. They are a very dog-friendly pub in Weymouth and even host an annual charity dog show as part of their Dog, Sausage and Cider Fest.

Portland has also benefited enormously from the Olympic legacy and there’s a tempting range of dining options to choose from including great café menus at The Lobster Pot, Quiddles and the Jailhouse Café; seriously good pub food from the New Inn, Eight Kings and Cove House and proper fish and chips at the Chesil Chippie.

The Springhead has a beautiful location by the River Jordan with ducks swimming happily on the millpond. The restaurant chef uses good quality fresh food from local suppliers and takes pride in their homemade dishes. In the garden you will find a 2 wooden play areas with climbing frames and slides.

More a brassiere than a traditional pub, with a great menu and a large dog friendly area in the bars. Comfy sofas to sink into after a local walk. Right on a small stream with local wildlife to investigate.
