Okay, it may be a bit strange to include a pizza place, but Dough & Brew seems to me to be a great place to cosy up and share a pizza. I’ve been in a couple of times (though weirdly am still yet to eat a main meal), but the ambience is just right, the food award-winning (for the record, I have tried a few things and they’re great), and they have a well-stocked bar for that little tipple to accompany your tete-a-tete.

At this food hub, the emphasis is always on flavour with locally sourced ingredients that you can choose between to make the perfect vegan pizza. Their pizza is said to be some of the best in the country and I wouldn’t disagree with that. Neither would the locals, the place was absolutely packed and buzzing early on a Monday evening. Pizza toppings are ‘out there’ with some unusual additions like a sriracha base, if you’re man enough, plus gluten-free options.

Located on Brook Street, Dough and Brew has an extensive range of freshly baked pizzas which are available with vegan cheese, and they’re on Deliveroo!. The independant restaurant opened last year and has a relaxed atmosphere for evening diners. There is an al fresco area for the more pleasant summer evenings too.
