What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Diners frequently praise the delicious food, especially the Sunday roast, fish and chips, and sticky toffee pudding. The friendly and attentive staff, along with the welcoming atmosphere and picturesque lakeside views, also receive high marks. However, some guests have experienced long wait times for food, small portion sizes, and issues with food temperature.
"Perfect venue to have your celebrations staff go above and beyond to make your day so special ,and the buffet was worth a Michelin star. Thank you so much"

"Went to chat up with my farther and we decided to eat whilst we were there.
Big mistake as the food was well over a hour to come out, and the portions were the size of a child's meal and poor quality and the meals were cold.
I sent mine back as it was clock cold.
The meal was returned to me and was the same meal only that it had been thrown in a microwave.
I asked the member of staff if it had been in the microwave and his response was, " I've no idea I just gave it to the kitchen ".
The food was not worth the money and how some can even mess up sausage and mash ( instant mash may I add ) really shouldn't be working in a kitchen.
Safe to say we won't be returning."

"Food was absolutely delicious and plentiful.
Our party had fish and chips and lasagna. We then had sticky toffee pudding and everything was amazing.
We have come here several times and never had a bad experience or bad food.
The staff were attentive without being overbearing.
Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch today, thank you so much"

Dog friendly places to eat in Wakefield
Dogs are welcome to dine with you in the bar here, which is pretty pawsome. If your pooch is well behaved, there might be a few scraps left over from your carvery lunch that we’re sure he’d absowoofly love. Pooches will be welcomed by staff and there is also outside seating overlooking Newmillerdam lake (weather permitting of course).
